Meyer and Garry L. White Memorial Education Fund<\/h2>\n<div id=\"lp-open-message\"><strong>Deadline to apply: January 16, 2024 3:00 pm CT<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"lp-description-container\">\n<p>Seattle Foundation offers a wide variety of scholarships for high school seniors and undergraduate\/graduate college students. The Walter H. Meyer and Garry L. White Memorial Education Fund assists non-traditional students from the state of Washington.<\/p>\n<p>The program is administered by Scholarship America\u00ae, the nation\u2019s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America\u2019s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse;width: 100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\">Eligibility\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicants to The Walter H. Meyer and Garry L. White Memorial Education Fund must meet all of the following criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a non-traditional* student age 24 and older pursuing an undergraduate degree OR Be a graduate student age 30 or older<\/li>\n<li>Reside in the state of Washington<\/li>\n<li>Planning to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Non-traditional student is defined as an individual who did not enroll in college the year after graduating high school.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Awards<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to four (4) awards will be granted.<\/p>\n<p>Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.<\/p>\n<p>Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Notification<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All applicants will be notified in late March.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Payment of Scholarships<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Seattle Foundation. Payment is made in early August. Payments are made payable to the school and mailed to the school.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<h2><strong>Selection of Recipients<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic record<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities<\/li>\n<li>Work experience<\/li>\n<li>A statement of educational and career goals and objectives<\/li>\n<li>Unusual personal or family circumstances<\/li>\n<li>An online recommendation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.<\/p>\n<p>Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of the Seattle Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0Required Materials\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>As part of your application, you must upload the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong>\u00a0If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately.
