This role is highly visible in Douglas, Okanogan, Chelan, Kittitas, Yakima, Benton and Klickitat counties.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>You will play a significant role within the agency\u2019s executive leadership team and play a critical coordination role in agency high-profile work like the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan, Lower Yakima Valley Groundwater Management Area on Nitrates, and the proposed Goldendale Pumped Water Storage Energy Project. You will lead the Central\u00a0 Region Office Management Team, which consists of ten Environmental Section Managers to promote cross-program cooperation, coordinate service delivery, share information on agency direction, resolve regional challenges, and develop consistent region operating procedures. You will motivate, persuade, promote, negotiate, coach and connect people to resources. As the Executive member of the Central Region Office Management team, you will:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Identify region policy and procedure needs and take the initiative to ensure their development.<\/li>\n<li>Direct agency responses to issues that would be considered controversial including media relations and public speaking.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the delegated State Environmental Policy Act lead official on actions requiring an environmental impact statement involving multiple department programs.<\/li>\n<li>Review cross-program actions proposed by region and program staff, such as enforcement orders, permits, and variances for\u00a0agency and regional\u00a0impacts.<\/li>\n<li>Work alongside of Executive Management to assure appropriate and optimum use of the Department\u2019s resources and work to enhance the effectiveness of agency employees through ongoing performance management, coaching and access to professional development opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Support effective Department communication throughout the agency and region.<\/li>\n<li>Resolve cross-program operational problems with appropriate Section Managers, Unit Supervisors and staff, and provide routine feedback to the Executive Management Team.<\/li>\n<li>Promote effective working relationships with field office staff, supervisors, managers and other regional staff.<\/li>\n<li>Promote effective working relationships with local, state, federal and Tribal government partners.<\/li>\n<li>Authorize and provide oversight to significant personnel actions occurring in the Central Region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Key Member of Ecology\u2019s Executive Management Team<\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<br \/>In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Ecology and serve as principal spokesperson and advisor in coordinating significant activities and service delivery priorities in the Central Region that includes Douglas, Okanogan, Chelan, Kittitas, Yakima, Benton and Klickitat counties. It is critical that you maintain the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct to support Ecology\u2019s mission and the state\u2019s commitment to efficient, effective and accountable government. As a key member of our Agency\u2019s Executive Leadership Team you will:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Represent our Agency\u2019s Director with Federal, Canadian Provincial, Washington and Oregon State, local, Tribal and elected officials, the general public, environmental groups, and the business community.<\/li>\n<li>Develop credibility as a reliable and accurate problem solver and source of information for local, state, and Tribal leaders.<\/li>\n<li>Make recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team on how to implement programs and develop policies including agency direction for work procedures to ensure responsive service delivery and consistency.<\/li>\n<li>As appropriate, coordinate central region activities related to high-profile projects and initiatives, with the Governor\u2019s Policy Office.<\/li>\n<li>Support the efforts of the Office of Columbia River Director to provide water supply solutions in the Columbia River Basin.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the responsible regional signature official in making cross-program agency determinations\u00a0that comply\u00a0with the State Environmental Policy Act.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in agency-wide budget development and management as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
