(Farmington, ME)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Job Type: Paid Internship<br \/>Salary Details:\u00a0$16 &#8211; $18 an hour.<\/p>\n<p>AFM\u2019s Northeast Region has\u00a0<strong>2 openings<\/strong>\u00a0for a Summer Internship in\u00a0<strong>Milford and Farmington Maine<\/strong>, reporting to the District Manager. As an intern at AFM, you will be paired with a forester throughout your summer to gain a wide range of forestry and business experience as well as independent work. Activities will mostly include inventory work using a variety of cruising techniques, timber sale layout and stream buffer delineation, harvesting inspections, GIS\/GPS work, tract inspections, and other duties assigned by AFM foresters. We are humbled that over 1,200 clients have entrusted us to be advisors and steward of their land.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pursuing a Degree in Forestry or Natural Resources<\/li>\n<li>Desire to learn more about a consulting forestry career<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; working knowledge of GIS &amp; GPS applications is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Must have personal skills necessary to communicate with AFM team members, managers, and contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to drive, ride, or walk through rough terrain in wet and dry environments.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working long periods of time outdoors in a remote field environment including adverse weather conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At AFM, our people are our top priority, and that includes our interns.
