For over 100 years BIOS has been committed to seeking and sharing fundamental knowledge of the oceans and complex environmental issues through exploration, hands-on programs, cutting-edge technology, and state-of-the-art research methods.<\/p>\n<p>The Marine Science Education Intern plays an integral role in supporting the institutional goal of providing high quality on-site education support that facilitates connections with BIOS\u2019s research programs and Bermuda\u2019s natural environment. The intern will work closely with other BIOS-based teams including reservations and catering, small boats, development, accounts and facilities teams to support both local and international student experiences. The candidate will execute engaging programming for students through BIOS\u2019s annual visiting and local education programs. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with student cohorts aged 10 to 25 years old, with experience demonstrating and engaging students with research. The candidate will confidently execute laboratory and field excursions for the various programs, including providing in-water support.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the hands-on nature of the position, the coordinator must be willing to live either on the BIOS campus or in the east end of the island.
