Therefore, if a qualified candidate from within the bargaining unit applies, that person could be selected for the position.<\/em><\/strong><br \/><br \/>Responsible for accepting completed development applications from the public. Development applications include permits for: commercial and residential building, plan review, shoreline and critical areas, clearing and burning, environmental health, inspections, variances, plumbing, mechanical, remodel, addition, new construction, and\/or other development code process.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Examples of Duties<br \/><\/strong><\/em>This position may include but not be limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Providing various information and guidance to clients regarding planning and building regulations, and the application review process.<\/li>\n<li>Conveying rules and regulations of the development review process to clients.<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing applications for completeness and compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Accepting permit applications, determining the type of application, accepting revisions, routing review material, and completing necessary documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating permit intake process with other Community Services staff.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing pre-submission permit applications for completeness and scheduling pre-application meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring the progress of permit applications.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained and that required documentation is complete with all regulations addressed prior to issuing permits.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Being able to identify issues, research, correct problems, and perform follow-up as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize computerized data base for permit tracking.<\/li>\n<li>Work with coworkers for improving and updating operational procedures as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Performing special projects, participating in cross training, and on occasion assisting other functional areas throughout the department.<\/li>\n<li>Insuring adequate recordkeeping, retention, and retrieval of documents.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications<br \/><\/strong>High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of two years experience in providing customer service in an administrative\/office support position within a public environment.
