The incumbent will work independently to maintain daily operations of the SR529 Draw Bridges on Steamboat Slough and Snohomish River. The main undertaking of this role is moveable span bridge operations.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/><strong>What to Expect<\/strong><br \/>Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Bridge Tender will:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Responsible for the safe operation of the SR529 Draw Bridges on Steamboat Slough and Snohomish River in line with Coast Guard US Code 33, Chapter 11 pertaining to drawbridges over navigable waters.<u>\u00a0\u00a0<\/u><\/li>\n<li>Perform draw bridge maintenance\/ housekeeping.<\/li>\n<li>Perform routine cleaning, and painting bridge areas and\/or state structures.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Perform traffic control, flagging, preventative maintenance, simple repairs, and help test equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Act as an emergency responder when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Work rotating shifts, 10 days on, 4 days off, day, swing, graveyard.<strong style=\"font-size: inherit;color: initial\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>To be considered for this opportunity, the following are\u00a0<u>required<\/u>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid Driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>Work at heights on catwalks over water<\/li>\n<li>Ability to move and manipulate 50lbs.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively work with other employees, around the public and around the homeless and camps.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is\u00a0<u>preferred<\/u>\u00a0that qualified candidates also have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working around a marine\/bodies of water environment.<\/li>\n<li>Construction experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/span><br \/>Applications for this recruitment will be accepted electronically.
