{"id":49491,"date":"2023-05-22T09:13:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T16:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=49491"},"modified":"2023-05-18T09:13:46","modified_gmt":"2023-05-18T16:13:46","slug":"job-cultural-resources-technician-swca-environmental-consultants-houston-tx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-cultural-resources-technician-swca-environmental-consultants-houston-tx\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Cultural Resources Technician, SWCA Environmental Consultants (Houston, TX)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Temporary<br \/><strong>Salary Details:<\/strong> $19.69 &#8211; $25.99 \/ hour<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the opportunity<br \/><\/strong>SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking\u00a0Cultural Resources Technicians\u00a0in our Houston, Texas office to assist with cultural resources management work within the Texas and the Gulf Coast region.\u00a0SWCA&#8217;s Houston, Texas office offers a unique work environment and a diversified client-base, including oil and gas, generation\/renewables, transportation, water infrastructure, and land development.<\/p>\n<p>This is a temporary, on-call position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you will accomplish<br \/><\/strong>Complete archaeological surveying, field testing, including shovel test pits and excavation units, data recovery, and associated field recording, including completion of field forms, digital photography and in-field mapping.\u00a0 Assist with archaeological office and lab work and GPS data collection in the field\u00a0under the direction of a Field Lead or Project Archaeologist.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience and qualifications for success<br \/><\/strong><strong>\u00a0Minimum Qualifications:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School Diploma\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Completion of an accredited archaeological field school or demonstrative equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel to a location, walk, and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather (including extreme heat and humidity), rugged terrain, often at high altitudes.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.<\/li>\n<li>Current valid driver\u2019s license and ability to safely operate a 4wd vehicle on rugged, backcountry roads required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor\u2019s Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>6+ months experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, methodology and monitoring.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Collector and Survey123.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compensation based on education and experience.<\/li>\n<li>This is a temporary, on-call position.<\/li>\n<li>Estimated time in the field is 90-100%<\/li>\n<li>Project schedules may often include up to 12-hour days, 6 days a week for extended periods.<\/li>\n<li>Hours worked over 40 hours per week are paid at time-and-a-half rate.<\/li>\n<li>Single occupancy hotels paid directly by SWCA.<\/li>\n<li>Per diem for full day, unless otherwise noted for specific projects.<\/li>\n<li>Vehicles provided for projects.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity for advancement within SWCA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are seeking an opportunity to work in a culture of exceptionally skilled and diverse professionals who embrace sound science and creative solutions, then SWCA will be a great fit for you!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to contact SWCA regarding the accessibility of our website or need assistance completing the application process, please email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:accomodations@swca.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accomodations@swca.com<\/a>\u00a0or call\u00a0480-581-5378.\u00a0This contact information is for accommodation requests only and cannot be used to inquire about the status of applications.<\/p>\n<p>SWCA is committed to salary equity and salary transparency for all its employees.\u00a0 In alignment with this commitment, SWCA posts good faith pay ranges in all its advertised job postings to promote pay equity and transparency.<\/p>\n<p>An employee in this\u00a0Houston, TX-based\u00a0position can expect\u00a0an hourly pay rate\u00a0of $19.69\u00a0\u2013 $25.99\/hour.
