{"id":49155,"date":"2023-04-29T09:59:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-29T16:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=49155"},"modified":"2023-04-26T09:59:37","modified_gmt":"2023-04-26T16:59:37","slug":"job-wildfire-adapted-communities-specialist-south-santiam-watershed-council-sweet-home-or","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-wildfire-adapted-communities-specialist-south-santiam-watershed-council-sweet-home-or\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Wildfire Adapted Communities Specialist, South Santiam Watershed Council (Sweet Home, OR)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Permanent<br \/><strong>Salary Details:<\/strong> $48,000 plus benefits stipend<br \/><strong>Required:<\/strong> Experience 2 &#8211; 6 years<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose Summary\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase community engagement capacity supporting wildfire recovery and resilience in the North and South Santiam Basins\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Build and align partnerships to support future and ongoing fire risk reduction\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Identify, develop and administer projects that advance community-level fire resilience\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Professional Responsibilities\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in local process(es) to update and implement Community Wildfire Protection Plans<\/li>\n<li>Work closely and effectively with Local, State and Federal agencies and entities; Tribal staff and Councils; academic communities; social enterprise (non-profit) organizations; private companies; private landowners; volunteers; school districts, and other community partners to share information, plan events, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and direct projects at and through all stages of development, including concept\/design, budgets, schedules, permits, procurement, contracting, and monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Lead\/co-lead project tours, presentations, public meetings, site visits, and outreach events<\/li>\n<li>Report activities according to grantors\u2019 requirements<\/li>\n<li>Attend board meetings and staff meetings for both organizations<\/li>\n<li>Attend trainings, workshops and conferences to advance knowledge, skills and abilities<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate administrative records for payroll, mileage and expense tracking\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants living outside of the geographic area (but within the State of Oregon) may apply; however, this position is expected to travel extensively in and around Linn and Marion Counties.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a valid Oregon driver\u2019s license, or ability to acquire one upon employment.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Employment is contingent on passing a criminal background investigation.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Attributes and Qualifications\u00a0<br \/><\/strong>We encourage you to think broadly about your background and qualifications and how not only your professional and educational experiences, but traditional, lived, and volunteer experiences contribute to meeting the qualifications.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.A. or B.S. in a related field of study and 2+ years of experience with community capacity building and project management\u00a0<strong>OR<\/strong>\u00a03+ years of experience with community capacity building and project management<\/li>\n<li>Community education and engagement experience with demonstrated attention to relationships, authentic partnership building and follow through.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Willamette Valley ecosystems and\/or natural resource experience is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a personal vehicle for business travel.
