(Wenatchee, WA)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Wenatchee, WA with field sites throughout Upper Columbia River Basin<br \/><strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full Time, Seasonal<br \/><strong>Term:<\/strong> Seasonal, 1-6 months TBD<br \/><strong>Deadline:<\/strong> Open until filled<br \/><strong>Start Date:<\/strong> Variable, May 2023<\/p>\n<div id=\"comp-lfn6e9gy\" class=\"KcpHeO tz5f0K comp-lfn6e9gy wixui-rich-text\" data-testid=\"richTextElement\">\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>Salmon Recovery Monitoring Program<br \/><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: inherit;color: initial\">Hinchinbrook, Inc., in partnership with Pacific Northwest Research Station (USDA Forest Service), is seeking multiple fisheries research technicians to join our team and assist with field data collection for an ongoing investigation into the effectiveness of various fish habitat restoration techniques. All work is to be performed outdoors at semi-remote field locations around the Upper Columbia River Basin including sites in the Entiat, Wenatchee and Methow River subbasins. Technicians must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including substantial time wearing drysuits or waders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_2\"><strong><span class=\"color_15\">Job Duties:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Collect accurate scientific measurements following established protocols<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Assist in developing new protocols and methods for fish and habitat data measurements<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Capture juvenile salmonids using a combination of methods including seine nets, traps, hand nets and backpack electrofishers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Tag\/mark juvenile salmonids using a variety of techniques including implanted PIT tags, visible implant elastomers, fin clips, batch marks and conventional external tags<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Measure and record biometric data on juvenile salmonids and bycatch species<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Reliably identify fry and parr stage Pacific salmonid species<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Conduct snorkel surveys in swift river habitats to identify and count fish and record associated habitat metrics<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Safely travel by road and hiking\/wading to semi-remote sampling sites<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"font_2\"><strong><span class=\"color_15\">Minim<\/span><span class=\"color_15\">um Required Qualifications:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Education requirements vary by position and level, all applicants must have a passion for science and conservation, with proven experience working and playing in the outdoors<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">BSc or equivalent education and experience is required for Tech III (crew lead) positions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Possess or able to obtain a valid WA State Driver\u2019s License and clean driving record<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong><span class=\"color_15\">Desired Skills &amp; Experience:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Experience in ecology, fish biology and anadromous fish ecology<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Experience conducting stream-based field research, including swift water snorkeling and juvenile fish capture and marking methods in a wide variety of field conditions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Experience with fish husbandry including special handling requirements for ESA-listed species<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Smith-Root electrofishing certification<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">PIT or VIE tagging experience<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong><span class=\"color_15\">Physical Competencies:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, often while traversing uneven terrain including slippery substrate in moving water<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Ability to perform physically demanding tasks that include continual bending, walking, lifting and pulling, often while immersed in cold water<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Ability to maintain performance standards while outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods up to 10 hours\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>To Apply<br \/><\/strong><\/span>Applications will be accepted using the form on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hinchinbrookei.com\/jobs\">website<\/a>, through our LinkedIn page (link in page footer on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hinchinbrookei.com\/jobs\">website<\/a>), or by emailing your cover letter and resume to <a href=\"mailto:info@hinchinbrookei.com\" data-auto-recognition=\"true\">info@hinchinbrookei.com<\/a>.
