UW faculty and staff also enjoy outstanding benefits, professional growth opportunities and unique resources in an environment noted for diversity, intellectual excitement, artistic pursuits and natural beauty. <\/p>\n<p><b>EarthLab is seeking a full-time lead to cultivate partnerships across the university and the broader community<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>The EarthLab Community Partnerships Lead is a new role that will build on initial efforts to support a critical aspect of EarthLab\u2019s strategy:<\/strong> to activate, leverage, and sustain cross-boundary relationships. <br \/><br \/>This role will proactively engage with a broad and diverse range of stakeholders, both across the broader community and with University of Washington faculty, students, and staff. The Community Partnerships Lead works closely with EarthLab teams and partners to increase awareness of EarthLab\u2019s activities and relevant issues, actively participate in relevant forums and coalitions on behalf of the organization, mobilize community participation in EarthLab programming, mobilize UW participation in community programming and events, and facilitate the development of trusted relationships with partners at the UW and in the broader community. This position will also be a resource for EarthLab member organizations to support their community engagement goals. The Community Partnerships Lead will report to the EarthLab Communication and Engagement Manager. <br \/><br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><b>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/b><\/span><br \/><b> Cross-boundary connector and relationship manager<\/b><br \/>\u2022 Develop and maintain a community engagement plan that builds new and strengthens existing strategic partnerships, both across the UW tri-campus and with the broader community. <br \/>\u2022 Develop a current network map of EarthLab partnerships and stakeholders; use the map to implement community and partner engagement and outreach strategies to build connections that support EarthLab programs, member organizations and strategic goals. <br \/>\u2022 Serve as a primary point of contact and connector for the EarthLab team for incoming community requests and support existing partnerships across all of EarthLab as needed. <br \/>\u2022 Proactively develop and maintain relationships with regional stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers in the environmental space and with partner organizations. <br \/>\u2022 Develop innovative ways to cultivate and support networks on campus interested in advancing EarthLab strategic focus on climate and its intersection with social justice. <br \/>\u2022 Champion community priorities and interests to EarthLab and foster opportunities for direct engagement between community stakeholders, EarthLab member organizations, and the broader UW, including faculty, researchers, and students. <br \/>\u2022 Partner with the EarthLab Programs Manager to enhance effectiveness of the Innovation Grants and Student Programs and EarthLab\u2019s connection with community partners and UW colleagues. <br \/>\u2022 As part of the EarthLab communication and engagement team, partner and coordinate closely with the College of the Environment advancement team as appropriate. <br \/><br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><b>Communications and events<\/b><\/span> <br \/>\u2022 Plan and manage events that include EarthLab partners and ensure they are accessible to a wide range of community members. <br \/>\u2022 Partner with Communications Lead on the development of tools, fact sheets, presentations and templates to support community outreach and engagement. <br \/><br \/><b>Other duties as assigned<\/b><br \/>\u2022 Additional duties as needed in support of the EarthLab mission. <br \/><br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><b>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/b><\/span><br \/>\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in environmental studies, public affairs, communications or related fields <br \/>\u2022 4 years serving as a public-facing representative of their organization <br \/><br \/><b>Equivalent education\/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license\/certification\/registration.<\/b> <br \/><br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><b>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS<\/b><\/span><br \/>\u2022 Demonstrated communications skills, both oral and written <br \/>\u2022 Experience building and maintaining successful relationships and networks across sectors <br \/>\u2022 Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) <br \/><br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><b>DESIRED<\/b><\/span><br \/>\u2022 Experience or education in climate change\/environmental issues <br \/>\u2022 Experience with academic partnerships <br \/>\u2022 Experience using web conferencing applications <br \/>\u2022 Experience building diverse teams\/partnerships <br \/>\u2022 Ability to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion <br \/><br \/><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Additional Application Instructions<\/span><\/strong><br \/>At EarthLab, we focus on equity and justice in all that we do.
