Restoring Riverscapes Workshop – <\/em>Advancing Process-Based Actions<\/em><\/p>\n March 7, 8, 9, 2023<\/strong> Building on process-based habitat restoration\u2019s focus on improving fluvial, hydrologic, and biological process functions, riverscape restoration helps unleash streams, rivers, and floodplains to support more resilient and productive ecosystems.<\/p>\n This workshop, co-sponsored by NOAA Fisheries West Coast Region, aims to expand the pace and scale of riverscape restoration, consistent with our focus on seeking large-scale and ambitious opportunities that will make meaningful differences for salmon and steelhead conservation and recovery.\u00a0<\/p>\n Riverscape restoration is a holistic approach to addressing broad-scale, system-wide impairments. Our workshop will engage with the practice of riverscape restoration and its universe of opportunities and constraints through engaging, dynamic expert presentations, stories of place, and collaborative engagement sessions.<\/p>\n Workshop goals<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The pace and scale of riverscape restoration must be increased if we are to make a meaningful difference for climate adaptation, wildfire resilience, water security, and salmon and steelhead conservation and recovery.<\/p>\n We seek participants from all parts of the restoration community, in particular, managers and staff from federal and state agencies, tribal communities, watershed councils, and conservation organizations who oversee, fund, or regulate riverscape restoration.<\/p>\n Please see the workshop webpage for updates and to register for the workshop: RestoringRiverscapes.org<\/a>.
