Park Ranger 3&#8217;s leads routine operations within a park or park area and serves as the primary catalyst for implementing the area management plan from a concept or vision into operation.<\/p>\n<p>As a Park Ranger 3, you will be coaching, mentoring, supervising, and leading your park team while coordinating multiple long-term plans and projects important to the successful operation of the park or area. \u00a0You will be a part of a collaborative environment where you&#8217;ll be empowered to share your creative ideas and support area operations through coordination, planning, and execution.<\/p>\n<p>This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) full-time, permanent, <strong>Park Ranger 3\u00a0<\/strong>position for Kitsap Area. The duty station for this position will be at Manchester State Park located in Kitsap County, Washington. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0There is housing available for this position. <br \/>The house is located at Blake Island State Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information about Washington State parks, click <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.parks.wa.gov\/\"><strong>here.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Duties<br \/><\/strong><\/span>Under the direct supervision of the Area Manager (Park Ranger 4), this position serves as the Operations Manager for the Kitsap Area State Parks. The Park Ranger 3 implements area strategies based on the mission and goals as defined by the Area Manager. This position further serves as the expert-level Law Enforcement Officer for the area and also supports administration, supervision, maintenance, and public service within the management area.<br \/><br \/><strong>Duties include, but are not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Perform administrative duties as an Operations Manager for the Kitsap Area, implementing area strategies based on mission and goals as defined by Area Manager.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Assess operational needs of park area; raise issues with Area Manager.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Develop a logistical plan for the completion of park projects. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Provide oversight for day-to-day operations of the park area.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Develop staff schedules utilizing data-driven evidence when determining the proper use of staff time and classifications.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Emergency Management (First Responder: emergency oversight). \u00a0Ensure that all necessary plans are in place and up to date.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Develop and manage special projects in collaboration with work groups, weed boards, wildlife departments, and other outside entities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Perform duties as the lead Law Enforcement Ranger for the park area.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Maintain expertise in rules and regulations necessary to perform Law Enforcement duties.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Schedule appropriate Law Enforcement coverage based on demonstrable park needs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ensure all area Law Enforcement staff attend required quarterly training and in-service.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Participate in maintenance functions within the park area.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Assign, schedule, and complete lower-level maintenance projects for park areas, where journey-level skills are not required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ensure all safety requirements are met on the job site.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ensure all permitting requirements are met prior to the commencement of the job.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Responsible for the care and upkeep of park tools and equipment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Supervise staff and volunteers following all applicable Agency policies and\u00a0<\/strong><strong>procedures; statewide rules and regulations; and the Collective Bargaining\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Agreement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Provide oversight and instruction to staff.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ensure staff meet training requirements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Timely complete PDPs on an annual basis.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Hold staff accountable for meeting expectations;
