This is a part-time, non-permanent contract position that will report to the Water Quality Director, managing the full scope of collection, analysis, and conceptual design of the District\u2019s data and data collection and reporting systems. This position will also support the Executive Director and staff with other technical support services and the engineering and oversight of reporting metrics associated with our Strategic Plan.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>About Pierce Conservation District<br \/>Pierce Conservation District is government that works. We work strategically and passionately to conserve and restore the natural resources of Pierce County. Our work improves both rural and urban communities to benefit the health and well-being of our citizens. We work in five core program areas: Farm Assistance, Water Quality Improvement, Habitat Restoration, Urban Agriculture, and Environmental Education. When you join the Pierce Conservation District staff, you join a team of talented and committed people who are mission-driven and care deeply about improving our environment and our community.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Primary Job Responsibilities<br \/>The Data Coordinator reports to the Water Quality Improvement Program Director, and is responsible for the following:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate with the Executive Director and Program Directors to improve and engineer data tracking metric tools, features, and dashboards pertaining to Pierce CD\u2019s 2021-2025 Strategic Plan<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and continue buildout of Pierce CD\u2019s CRM and GIS database and data management systems. This might include adding automated features; layout rules; improving functionality; field and custom module creation; and seeking continuous improvement of these features<\/li>\n<li>Assist program staff with advancing how the District aggregates, analyzes, and communicates data to the public and to partners<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical training and troubleshooting support to staff in operating and interfacing with the District\u2019s CRM and GIS systems<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate all communications with program staff regarding important updates, new features, and soliciting feedback, input, and requests from staff in improvement of our CRM and GIS systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Qualifications<br \/>We\u2019re seeking candidates who are adaptable, team-oriented, and engaging. You should have:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certificate or college degree in data analytics, or closely related field<\/li>\n<li>2-3 years of experience in data management, analytics, and systems-based design<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in front- and back-end GIS software, ArcGIS Online, and CRM, or other equivalent data-management systems<\/li>\n<li>Thorough, detailed, and goal oriented, and understands the \u201cbig picture\u201d of database management and design<\/li>\n<li>Strong facilitation, work planning, and leadership skills, and thrives in collaborative team environments<\/li>\n<li>Deep understanding of data management, and what sets apart effective vs ineffective data and QAQC practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"isPasted\">Desired Skills<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>High degree of experience in cartographic and database design<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office software<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to the conservation field industry<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and oral communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Organization and time management skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>Work will occur largely within an office or remote setting, with the potential of in field locations (e.g. agricultural, riparian, and urban properties). The Coordinator must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions. Applicable field gear and equipment will be provided by PCD.
