<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nOur local orca pod, the Southern Resident Killer Whales, are endangered, but it\u2019s not too late! There is plenty we can do to save them. Orca Recovery Day occurs in the fall and is your opportunity to join with your local Conservation District and other partner organizations and work to recover our critically endangered Orca whales. If you live outside of Snohomish County or Camano Island, look for your conservation district on www.BetterGround.org<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n We can care for our Southern Resident Killer Whales every day through our actions. Check out the events and resources below to learn what you can do to help.<\/p>\n This year, join us for a tree planting, nature walk, and family-friendly activities at Strawberry Field Athletic Complex!<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u2019ll be learning about the benefits of riparian buffers as we plant trees along Middle Fork Quilceda Creek, how to create wildlife habitat where we live, and how our actions at home can help our Southern Resident Orcas.<\/p>\n We will gather at the entrance of the trail system located near the soccer fields at 9:45 am for check in. We’ll have a couple of stations for tree planting, kid activities, and there will be two guided nature walks at 10:30 am and 11:30 am. We’ll have gloves for planting. Snacks and water will be provided.<\/p>\n Please dress for the weather. We’ll be taking actions to help Orcas, rain or shine! Kids and adults are welcome!
