There are 3 regions (Northwest, Western, and Eastern); this position is in Northwest Region. If you are passionate about Oregon&#8217;s environment, apply today!<\/p>\n<p><em>This is a full-time, AFSCME represented position.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>What are we looking for<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong>\u00a0Bachelor\u2019s degree in physical science, environmental science, natural resources, or a closely related field, AND 3 years of experience in a natural resource or environmental field (<em>an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable).<\/em>\u00a0At least 1 year of experience at a technical or professional level performing activities in a natural resource program such as researching and analyzing data, conducting investigations, applying pertinent laws and regulations, or coordinating and monitoring project activities.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates who are most competitive will also reflect the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience developing and implementing NPDES permits.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use computer modeling and statistical tools to analyze study results.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to learn laws, regulations, and permit procedures applicable to the technology and industry under review.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent project management skills: ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate large, complex projects.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written communication skills and the ability to write clear and concise reports.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively and professionally through email and in-person with DEQ staff, permittees, consultants, the public, and other natural resources agencies, including communicating technical information; ability to make public presentations to diverse audiences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Work is primarily in an office setting. This position requires occasional travel on official State business for public hearings, visits to DEQ regional offices, conferences, trainings, seminars, and meetings, some of which may include evening work, overnight stays, and\/or weekend work.
