{"id":46965,"date":"2022-08-25T10:44:27","date_gmt":"2022-08-25T17:44:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=46965"},"modified":"2022-08-25T10:44:27","modified_gmt":"2022-08-25T17:44:27","slug":"job-fish-wildlife-biologist-department-of-fish-wildlife-north-bend-wa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-fish-wildlife-biologist-department-of-fish-wildlife-north-bend-wa\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Fish &amp; Wildlife Biologist, Department of Fish &amp; Wildlife (North Bend, WA)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!--more--><b><strong>For more information, please follow this link:<\/strong><\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-fish--wildlife-biologist-2---permanent---06370-22---224-north-bend-washington\/5800293957?utm_source=ongage&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=regular%20\">https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-fish&#8211;wildlife-biologist-2&#8212;permanent&#8212;06370-22&#8212;224-north-bend-washington\/5800293957?utm_source=ongage&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=regular%20<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong>&#8211; $4,117.00 &#8211; $5,399.00 Monthly<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Biologist 2,\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides written comments to local government planning staff during the land use decision-making process as part of the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA).<\/li>\n<li>Provides review and comment to local jurisdictions on Habitat Management Plans for small and medium-scale projects in accordance with local Critical Areas Ordinances.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates with the local jurisdiction to assist landowners to comply with local land use ordinances.<\/li>\n<li>Reviews and issues low complexity HPA\u2019s in accordance with the Revised Code of Washington, Washington Administrative Code, agency policy, and procedures manual.<\/li>\n<li>Develops effective working relationships with emphasis on clear communication and a cooperative approach to resolving issues related to fish habitat conservation.<\/li>\n<li>Reviews permit applications and conduct field reviews to provide project assistance to applicants. Recommends alternative project designs and\/or techniques, BMP\u2019s, and measures to avoid, reduce or eliminate impacts to fish life.<\/li>\n<li>Provides technical assistance to restoration groups, governmental agencies, tribes, and coordination with other WDFW programs.<\/li>\n<li>Participates in Water Type Modification Interdisciplinary teams, applying advice on fish habitat conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work Setting, including hazards:\n<ul>\n<li>Work is performed in an office and outdoor environment.<\/li>\n<li>Office work includes reading, writing, phone and computer use.<\/li>\n<li>Fieldwork requires knowledge of operation of field equipment (GPS, maps, clinometer, range finder, compass, etc). Knowledge of electroshocking equipment and procedures may be required.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to hold a valid driver\u2019s license and operate vehicle in off-road driving conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Physical capacity to work in remote forested and aquatic environments, conducting fish surveys and other related tasks. These activities can consist of 8-to-10-hour days, for several days in a row.<\/li>\n<li>Capable of walking over rough terrain for short distances (? 1 mile) regularly or occasionally over long distances (several miles).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Schedule:\n<ul>\n<li>Typically, Monday thru Friday 8 AM \u2013 5 PM.
