This position is full-time and can require working up to 12 hours per day for 5 to 6 days per week over a period of 5 months or more. The project includes working extensively in salt marsh habitat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct pre-construction surveys for sensitive and rare species, including California Ridgway\u2019s rail (<em>Rallus obsoletus obsoletus<\/em>) and salt marsh harvest mouse (<em>Reithrodontomys raviventris<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Conduct fieldwork as needed to prepare deliverables including vegetation surveys, habitat assessments, and related studies.<\/li>\n<li>Perform construction monitoring and ensure compliance with environmental measures.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare written reports, letters, permit applications, training programs, and other deliverables as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate production of materials with vendors.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver trainings and oral presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Review deliverables to ensure the highest level of quality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor of Science degree or higher in biology, ecology, botany, or a related science.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with the salt marsh harvest mouse.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with the California Ridgway\u2019s rail.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with western snowy plover (<em>Charadrius nivosus nivosus<\/em>) and nesting bird surveys preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience conducting environmental inspections or biological monitoring.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of regulations pertaining to environmental protection.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license and good driving record.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness and ability to travel when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness and ability to work fluctuating and\/or long hours as necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":9433,"featured_media":34097,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_s2mail":"yes","footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[4,28,33,141,13],"class_list":["post-46589","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-alumni","tag-job","tag-jobs","tag-recent-grad","tag-recent-grads"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/46589"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/9433"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=46589"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/46589\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":46590,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/46589\/revisions\/46590"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/34097"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=46589"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=46589"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=46589"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
