POSITION SUMMARY:<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
The GIS Technician assists the GIS Program with various GIS projects related to land management, environmental<\/span>
protection, resource management, and planning. This is a temporary part-time position based in the Land<\/span>
Management Department, and is supervised by the GIS Coordinator.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> GIS data input, updating and improving existing GIS datasets<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Performs data analysis<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Duties include map output, creation of metadata, and entry of coordinate geometry from survey<\/span>
document or other legal land records.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Provides direct support to GIS staff<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Because of the Tribes commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each<\/span>
employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such<\/span>
Duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> High School Diploma or GED and some college coursework in GIS or related field, such as geography or<\/span>
computer science.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Must have some formal GIS education, or some introductory experience.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Experience using a computer, spreadsheets, and data entry<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software such as ArcGIS & ArcGIS Pro<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
