{"id":46422,"date":"2022-06-30T08:58:17","date_gmt":"2022-06-30T15:58:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=46422"},"modified":"2022-06-30T08:58:17","modified_gmt":"2022-06-30T15:58:17","slug":"job-program-development-director-shadow-lake-nature-preserve-renton-wa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-program-development-director-shadow-lake-nature-preserve-renton-wa\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Program &amp; Development Director, SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve (Renton, WA)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!--more--><b><strong>For more information, please follow this link:\u00a0<\/strong><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-program--development-director-renton-washington\/2963678140?utm_source=ongage&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=regular\">https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-program&#8211;development-director-renton-washington\/2963678140?utm_source=ongage&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=regular<\/a> <\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong>&#8211; $55,000 &#8211; $60,000<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Development &amp; Community Outreach<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as SHADOW\u2019s primary fundraising leader; develop a strategic annual fundraising plan aimed at increasing organizational capacity and ensuring long-term growth and sustainability.<\/li>\n<li>Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective and existing donors; strengthen<br \/>relationships with corporate and foundation partners; and engage Board of Directors to support these efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Manage grants, including researching available grant options, writing grant proposals,<br \/>maintaining the grant calendar, tracking budgets and outcomes, and submitting reports in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee communication including content creation for monthly e-newsletter, SHADOW\u2019s website and web presence on social media, and printed materials including flyers and brochures.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement community engagement activities including events such as the annual Frog Frolic and Issaquah Salmon Days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Administration &amp; Program Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization and ensure maintenance of<br \/>facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in facilitating weekly staff meetings and provide support to co-workers.<\/li>\n<li>Attend monthly Board of Director meetings to report on operations and develop<br \/>organizational plans and policies.<\/li>\n<li>Build an annual budget for the organization and prepare program and project budgets.<br \/>Track expenses and ensure organization operates efficiently and within budget.<\/li>\n<li>Process and track donations, and issue gift acknowledgements and tax-receipts for<br \/>monetary and in-kind donations.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure strong administrative and technological infrastructure, including serving as the<br \/>primary administrator for Microsoft Office 365 and the Salesforce database.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in nonprofit management or development.<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated, self-starter, and dedicated to advance SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve&#8217;s mission.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to engage and effectively collaborate with the Board of Directors.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to empower co-workers and delegate tasks to staff, the Board, and volunteers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>College or university degree in a relevant field.<\/li>\n<li>Strong networking\/fundraising skills; experience in donor stewardship, grant<br \/>writing\/management, and event management is desired.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to envision and convey an organization&#8217;s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers, and donors.<\/li>\n<li>High level of resourcefulness, creativity, and solid organizational leadership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable Skill Set<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with people.<\/li>\n<li>Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with<br \/>WordPress, Constant Contact, or Salesforce is desired.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Logistics &amp; Salary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Status: FTE, salary, exempt<\/li>\n<li>Salary range: $55,000 &#8211; $60,000<\/li>\n<li>Benefits: SHADOW offers paid time-off, paid sick leave, paid holidays, and healthcare<br \/>benefits.<\/li>\n<li>Location: 21656 184th Ave SE, Renton, WA 98058<\/li>\n<li>Start date: Mid to late July<\/li>\n<li>Approximate hours of work are within the hours of 8 am \u20136 pm. Candidates must be<br \/>able to work a flexible work schedule, including some weekends or evening, as<br \/>necessary. SHADOW&#8217;s current hours of operation are Tuesday \u2013 Saturday, with the hope of this position moving to Monday \u2013 Friday in the future.<\/li>\n<li>Valid WA State Driver\u2019s License and reliable transportation with current auto insurance<br \/>are required. Position involves some local travel.
