Use your biological and analytical skills to assist our partner Lead Agency&#8217;s with the development of their project&#8217;s CEQA documents including providing valuable input into the CEQA Early Consultation process, responding to Notice&#8217;s of Preparation, and analyzing and providing comments on Initial Study&#8217;s and Draft Environmental Impact Reports. Work with a team of highly skilled professionals on these duties within the coastal counties of Region 4 (San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties). These ecologically rich counties possess a wide-range of habitats to help you develop new or strengthen your existing skills with many plant and animal species. Provide input on a wide range of project types including development, restoration, planning, and renewable energy projects. Help shape avoidance, minimization, and mitigation measures for projects in these beautiful counties in central California. The position may also require field work and surveys during the early mornings or late nights, hiking over uneven and possibly steep or wet terrain, use of 4-wheel drive vehicle (including all-terrain vehicle), and work in inclement weather. A valid California driver license is required to drive to meetings and field sites. The position may require the incumbent to wear a uniform identifying the employee as Department staff. This position would be primarily based in San Luis Obispo County and is currently teleworking due to Emergency Telework. Once Emergency Telework ends, this position may be eligible for hybrid telework. Hybrid telework will be dependent on operational need.
