{"id":46152,"date":"2022-05-26T11:15:23","date_gmt":"2022-05-26T18:15:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=46152"},"modified":"2022-05-26T11:15:23","modified_gmt":"2022-05-26T18:15:23","slug":"job-restoration-technician-mid-columbia-fisheries-enhancement-group-white-salmon-wa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-restoration-technician-mid-columbia-fisheries-enhancement-group-white-salmon-wa\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Restoration Technician, Mid Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group (White Salmon, WA)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><strong>For more information, please follow this link:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-restoration-technician-white-salmon-washington\/3964346850?utm_source=ongage&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=regular\">https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-restoration-technician-white-salmon-washington\/3964346850?utm_source=ongage&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=regular<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong>&#8211; $17.31 &#8211; $18.46 DOE<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anticipated work includes the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Restoring and enhancing salmonid habitat through planting native trees, shrubs, and grasses.<\/li>\n<li>Performing stewardship, such as mulching and irrigation at project sites.<\/li>\n<li>Removing invasive weeds (mowing, brush cutter, and manual removal).<\/li>\n<li>Constructing and repairing wildlife fences.<\/li>\n<li>Assembly of irrigation systems at restoration<\/li>\n<li>Incorporating large woody debris and beaver dam analogs (BDAs) into floodplains.<\/li>\n<li>Pesticide application in both large and small project areas.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining tools and equipment, including orderly tool and plant storage, and vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for site upkeep, such as picking up trash and pet waste.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting staff with educational outreach in classroom and outdoor settings.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with establishment and collection of site and stream<\/li>\n<li>Performing public outreach and supervision of volunteers and interns as directed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills and Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be dependable, self-motivated, and demonstrate a positive attitude.<\/li>\n<li>Must be comfortable taking direction from MCF Supervisor and project managers.<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to occasionally spike (camp) three nights per week as project work schedule requires.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate respectfully with fellow crew members, supervisor, volunteers, interns, landowners, and others.<\/li>\n<li>Able to adapt quickly to changes in work schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working around water knowledge of or experience power tools, and understanding the safety, and environmental protection measures required to use such tool<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to perform all aspects of the work, including:\n<ul>\n<li>Being comfortable working in remote areas without cell phone coverage.<\/li>\n<li>Able to perform physically demanding manual labor outdoors on difficult and hazardous terrain in all types of weather.<\/li>\n<li>repetitively lifting 50 lbs. into and out of trucks, walking 3 miles daily over steep or uneven terrain, and operating power tools for 6-8 hrs. per day.<\/li>\n<li>Able to safely operate hand and power tools such as Brush cutters, water pumps, chainsaws, power auger, small tractors, sledgehammer, planting bars, pruners; and<\/li>\n<li>Bending, squatting, kneeling, lifting overhead, and other repetitive movements.<\/li>\n<li>Work up to 10 hours\/day for 40 hours per week<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to use personal protective equipment and waders (provided by MCF)<\/li>\n<li>Must comply with MCF policies and safety procedures including being fully vaccinated, and boosted if applicable, with the Covid-19 vaccine.
