Duties include but are not limited to property monitoring, invasive plant<br \/>control (including herbicide use), installing native plants, watering, trail<br \/>installation, trail maintenance, debris removal, sign installation, fence<br \/>installation, and more. Training on these tasks will be provided if needed.<\/li>\n<li>Collect data in the field using hand sketches, photos, GPS, and other tools and<br \/>integrate data into GIS maps on existing and new properties. Attain proficiency<br \/>in ArcGIS editing and creation of clear maps to document existing attributes.<\/li>\n<li>Produce reports and photo documentation reflecting fieldwork and data<br \/>collected<\/li>\n<li>Assist in drafting baseline documentation reports for new conservation<br \/>easements, amendments, and management plans and assist in reviewing and<br \/>editing these documents.<\/li>\n<li>Support camera trap studies on Land Trust properties.<\/li>\n<li>Take care of tools and equipment and ensure proper storage.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and supervise volunteers to assist with field tasks, and guide their<br \/>work. Keep records of attendance of volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with management of electronic and paper conservation property files.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with entering new properties and their associated conservation values into<br \/>the Salesforce property database and assist Stewardship Manager with<br \/>monitoring inputs.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in fundraising and other outreach events, such as work parties, free<br \/>invasive debris removal, native plant sale, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Provide office support as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>CORE COMPETENCIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation<\/li>\n<li>Ability to uphold high ethical standards<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills and knowledge<br \/>to communicate effectively<\/li>\n<li>Fluency with MS Office Suite, familiarity with Zoom and Google-Workspace<\/li>\n<li>Outgoing and friendly personality with the ability to meet, work and<br \/>communicate with diverse stakeholders and community members<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to confidentiality<\/li>\n<li>Organization skills, excellent document preparation, reporting, and attention to<br \/>detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree and a minimum of two years of land stewardship experience<br \/>or equivalent education and experience are sufficient to perform the job&#8217;s<br \/>essential duties successfully.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of natural history (specifically natural communities) of northwest<br \/>Washington, or a strong willingness and ability to learn.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform fieldwork, locate land boundaries, and navigate using maps,<br \/>compass, and other orientation tools to complete the field successfully.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively, under the day-to-day general<br \/>supervision of the Stewardship Manager, in coordination with other staff and<br \/>volunteer committees.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to walk over and navigate rough terrain and navigate in remote areas.<\/li>\n<li>Lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.<\/li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to learn to safely operate and maintain brush-cutters,<br \/>chainsaws, hand tools, and herbicide application equipment.<\/li>\n<li>A valid driver\u2019s license is required\u2014vehicle use may be needed at times.<\/li>\n<li>Valid First Aid\/CPR certification obtained within three months of hire and<br \/>maintenance of certification during employment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Formal education or training in natural resources, restoration ecology,<br \/>environmental or biological sciences.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of restoration ecology and protected land management techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience with GIS mapping (preferably ArcGIS), GPS and field<br \/>marking, and associated software applications. (Additional training may be<br \/>available)<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software.<\/li>\n<li>Current WSDA pesticide applicator license.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of natural systems. Ability to identify plant and animal species in the<br \/>Puget Sound and North Cascades eco-region.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with standard field sampling techniques and data management,<br \/>including digital photography and GPS data collection and management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SALARY &amp; BENEFITS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Annual salary range $35,000-$40,000. This is a full-time, salaried position (40<br \/>hours\/week). Occasional weekend or evening work associated with events or other Land<br \/>Trust activities will occur.<\/p>\n<p>The Land Trust values work-life balance; its work culture supports and inspires<br \/>conservation achievement and personal and professional development.
