{"id":45553,"date":"2022-03-23T20:39:28","date_gmt":"2022-03-24T03:39:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=45553"},"modified":"2022-03-23T20:39:28","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T03:39:28","slug":"job-puget-sound-samplers-department-of-fish-wildlife-multiple-locations-wa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-puget-sound-samplers-department-of-fish-wildlife-multiple-locations-wa\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Puget Sound Samplers, Department of Fish &amp; Wildlife (Multiple locations, WA)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><strong>For more information, please follow this link:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-scientific-technician-2---puget-sound-samplers---3-openings---career-seasonal---03380-22-multiple-locations-washington\/3084974843?utm_source=ongage&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=regular\">https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-scientific-technician-2&#8212;puget-sound-samplers&#8212;3-openings&#8212;career-seasonal&#8212;03380-22-multiple-locations-washington\/3084974843?utm_source=ongage&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=regular<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary-<\/strong> $34,368.00 &#8211; $44,412.00 Annually<\/p>\n<p>Our Puget Sound Samplers,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducts angler creel interviews, provides feedback about sampling protocols, and accurately records data into iPad application and on scale card paper form.<\/li>\n<li>Samples all Chinook and Coho salmon with electronic CWT detection devices.<\/li>\n<li>Classifies, sorts, and enumerates marked (adipose fin-clipped) and unmarked salmon by CWT status.<\/li>\n<li>Uses a knife to remove snouts from Chinook and Coho salmon with CWTs, which are used to assess stock specific impacts for fisheries modeling.<\/li>\n<li>Samples salmon catch to obtain stock composition (DNA taken with scissors), age structure (scales taken with forceps), legal and sub-legal proportions (length taken by measuring device), and hatchery and natural-origin proportions (mark-status).<\/li>\n<li>Distributes Salmon Trip Report (STR) forms and collects completed forms.<\/li>\n<li>Conducts error checks of sampling data.<\/li>\n<li>Provides sport fishing regulatory information to the public.<\/li>\n<li>Liaison to regional supervisor on fishery violations observed in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Provides written reports on violations and may be called to give testimony informally or in court.<\/li>\n<li>May be responsible for operation and maintenance of an agency vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for maintaining sampling equipment in good working order.<\/li>\n<li>Completes \u201cTotalTime\u201d to submit timesheets and submits travel and purchasing information when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Completes state and agency required trainings and attends staff meetings.
