The<\/span> Institute for Applied Ecology<\/span> (<\/span><\/span>www.appliedeco.org<\/span><\/span>) is seeking to hire a<\/span> Res<\/span>earch<\/span> Ecologist 2 with a<\/span>
diverse skillset to lead several<\/span> research<\/span> and<\/span> monitoring<\/span> projects<\/span> to support the recovery of rare p<\/span>lants<\/span>
(<\/span>e.g., Nelson\u2019s checkermallow and Kincaid\u2019s lupine)<\/span> and wil<\/span>dlife (<\/span>e.g.,<\/span> greater sage<\/span>–<\/span>grouse, streaked<\/span>
horned<\/span>–<\/span>lark, Fender<\/span>\u2019s blue butterf<\/span>ly<\/span>).<\/span> The eco<\/span>logi<\/span>st w<\/span>ill be based<\/span> in Corvallis<\/span>, Oregon<\/span>. P<\/span>roje<\/span>cts are<\/span>
primarily in we<\/span>stern Oregon,<\/span> but additional<\/span> p<\/span>roje<\/span>ct<\/span>s<\/span> routinely<\/span> take place th<\/span>roughout<\/span> other ecoregions<\/span>
of the state<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
The Institute for Applied Ecology (IAE) is<\/span> a dynamic nonprofit organization whose mission is<\/span> the<\/span>
conservation of native species and habitats through restoration, research and education.<\/span> We maintain<\/span>
an open and convivial office environment with approx<\/span>imately 24 regular staff in our main office in<\/span>
Corvallis, OR and field office in Santa Fe, NM.<\/span> We have worked on the front lines of<\/span> rare species<\/span>
conservation and restoration for over 20 years<\/span>!<\/span> We conduct rigorous research and communicate<\/span>
results to land managers and others. Our projects range from short<\/span>–<\/span>term experiments to decade<\/span>–<\/span>long<\/span>
studies. Our overall goal is to conduct research leading to efficient, long<\/span>–<\/span>term conservation and<\/span>
restoration of native species and habitats and communicate our findings through planning and<\/span>
outreach.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
