PROJECT DESCRIP<\/span>TION<\/span>:<\/span> <\/strong>Field assistants will be involved in one or more research projects, which are collaborations between the<\/span>
Harvey Lab, the Washington DNR, Tulalip Tribes, UW Climate Impacts Group, US Forest Service and National Park Service:<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Post<\/span>–<\/span>fire<\/span> vegetation measurements in recently burned forests across the western WA and OR Cascades (North<\/span>
Cascades National Park, Mt Baker<\/span>–<\/span>Snoqualmie, Gifford Pinchot, Willamette, and Mt Hood National Forests)<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Measuring long<\/span>–<\/span>term forest plots in Cedar Flats & Sister<\/span> Rocks Research Natural Areas (near Cougar & Carson, WA)<\/span><\/span><\/span>

DUTIES<\/span>:<\/span> Field assistants will be collecting data on forest structure and composition. Tasks will involve:<\/span><\/span>
(a) n<\/span>avigating variable terrain to forest plots using maps and GPS<\/span>; (b) i<\/span>dentifying plant species<\/span>; (c) t<\/span>agging, measuring, and<\/span>
