Work in this position will primarily support on-going projects<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">aimed at conserving and recovering imperiled bird species, in particular streaked horned larks<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and Oregon vesper sparrows, in prairie-oak and other habitats in the Pacific Northwest. The<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">position will encompass a range of responsibilities from project management, field work, and<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">data management and analysis. Much of the work will be conducted on Joint Base Lewis<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">McChord Military Base. The successful applicant will have experience managing field-based<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">research studies, a strong quantitative background, the ability to establish and maintain<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">effective working relationships, and a proven track record of producing technical reports and<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">peer-reviewed publications. This position is a full-time exempt position that is supervised by<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the Director of Avian Conservation. The position is funded for 24 months with the potential to<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">extend and\/or be promoted based on performance and available funding.
