$44,412.00 Annually<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our Scientific Technicians,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct steelhead redd count surveys by accurately recording observed redds and live and dead fish counts within selected stream reaches of Clallam and West Jefferson counties.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate field records.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with private landowners, state, and federal agencies to facilitate access of survey areas.<\/li>\n<li>Collect daily spawner data, including redd counts and GPS data.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare daily data summaries.<\/li>\n<li>Enter raw data in spreadsheets and databases.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate spawning activity with other technicians and biologists within the District 16 team.<\/li>\n<li>Help other state, federal and tribal biologists in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Work with local hatcheries as needed during spawning periods or construction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Setting, including hazards: \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work is performed outdoors and is often done in inclement weather, within varying stream flows.<\/li>\n<li>Considerable driving and hiking; usual daily hiking distance is 3-5 miles but can be up to 15 miles on occasion into remote areas on private and public timberlands.<\/li>\n<li>Frequent walking along streams on slick boulders, wading riffles, or maneuvering watercraft (i.e., raft, hard side drift boat, and pontoon boat).<\/li>\n<li>Lifting equipment that can weigh up to or greater than 40 pounds.<\/li>\n<li>Occasional work in an office setting and on a computer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Typically, work schedule is 40 hours per week Monday \u2013 Friday;
