{"id":45268,"date":"2022-02-17T10:00:52","date_gmt":"2022-02-17T18:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=45268"},"modified":"2022-02-17T10:00:52","modified_gmt":"2022-02-17T18:00:52","slug":"internship-yosemite-relevancy-diversity-and-inclusion-council-yosemite-national-park-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/internship-yosemite-relevancy-diversity-and-inclusion-council-yosemite-national-park-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Internship: Yosemite Relevancy, Diversity, and Inclusion Council (Yosemite National Park)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><strong>For more information, please follow this link:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesca.org\/serve\/position\/yosemite-relevancy-diversity-and-inclusion-council-intern\/po-00732788\">https:\/\/www.thesca.org\/serve\/position\/yosemite-relevancy-diversity-and-inclusion-council-intern\/po-00732788<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n<u>Compensation Amounts<\/u><\/p>\n<p>$1,100 &#8211; one time round trip travel allowance (personal vehicle required for off-time).<br \/>\n$400 &#8211; weekly living allowance<br \/>\nHealth Insurance provided through SCA<br \/>\n$ 6,345 Americorps Education Award<br \/>\n*All allowances subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes<br \/>\n** Housing will be provided by the NPS<\/p>\n<div class=\"field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"item even\">\n<div class=\"main-desc\">\n<p>The Yosemite Relevancy, Diversity, and Inclusion Council Internship is an exciting, ground-breaking internship that will involve a variety of duties related to RDI initiatives at Yosemite National Park.<\/p>\n<p><u>Primary Duties<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support and collaborate with park leaders to implement, execute, and monitor progress on RDI strategic planning initiatives, with the RDI Council Charter as a\u00a0guide.<\/li>\n<li>Serve on all Yosemite Employee Resource Groups\u00a0(ERGs).<\/li>\n<li>Establish and support communication channels and strategic planning between Yosemite Employee Resource\u00a0Groups.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with park leaders, park partner organizations, mentor program, human resources, the volunteer program, and others, on Relevancy, Diversity, and\u00a0Inclusion.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate meetings and dialogue events to promote inclusive practice in the\u00a0workforce.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and execute initiatives designed to improve recruitment, belonging, and retention for diverse\u00a0staff.<\/li>\n<li>Host and support internal and external events for Yosemite\u2019s\u00a0ERGs.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a resource and point of contact\u00a0for organizational needs and inquiries on diversity, equity and inclusion as well as related training\u00a0topics.<\/li>\n<li>Research and share best practices for ERGs to address common challenges related to cultural competence, identity, social differences, and\u00a0inequality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Experience<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated leadership and commitment to DEI in a workforce, student body, or other\u00a0context.<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding and appreciation of the importance of national parks and protected lands, as well as the complex history behind unequal access to parks; with interest in learning\u00a0more.<\/li>\n<li>Successful track record of openness, growth, and receptivity to feedback; willingness to learn and question\u00a0assumptions.<\/li>\n<li>Some experience with project management and\/or facilitation of meetings is\u00a0desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Qualifications<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coursework related to Sociology, Psychology, Human Resources, Volunteer Management, Education, Environmental Studies, Communications, Comparative American Studies, or other related\u00a0field.<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a\u00a0team.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize\u00a0tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Conditions of Employment:<\/b><br \/>\nBeginning on 1\/18\/22, all new SCA volunteer program participants are required to be fully vaccinated.
