{"id":44969,"date":"2022-01-19T15:04:31","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T23:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=44969"},"modified":"2022-01-19T15:05:29","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T23:05:29","slug":"job-microbiologist-dept-of-agriculture-olympia-wa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-microbiologist-dept-of-agriculture-olympia-wa\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Microbiologist, Dept. of Agriculture (Olympia, WA)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><strong>For more information, please follow this link:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governmentjobs.com\/careers\/washington\/jobs\/3383417\/microbiologist-3\">https:\/\/www.governmentjobs.com\/careers\/washington\/jobs\/3383417\/microbiologist-3<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary-<\/strong> $61,224.00 &#8211; $80,292.00 Annually<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serves as the Lead in Dairy Section, one of the main technical sections in the laboratory.<\/li>\n<li>Conducts analysis of dairy and water samples.<\/li>\n<li>Serves as one of the primary analysts in cannabis and fresh produce testing.<\/li>\n<li>Designs and coordinates ad-hoc research projects within the laboratory sections.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates activities of personnel within the laboratory sections to ensure that the laboratories are adequately staffed at all time.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Education &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Bachelor&#8217;s degree with a major in microbiology, public health, biochemistry, medical technology or closely allied field which includes at least 20 semester or 30 quarter credit hours in microbiology.<\/p>\n<p>AND<\/p>\n<p>Four years of professional experience in a microbiology lab or similar lab science laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>OR Equivalent education\/experience.<\/p>\n<p>Note:<br>A Master\u2019s degree in one of the aforementioned fields may be substituted for one year of experience. A Ph.D. degree in one of the aforementioned fields may be substituted for one year of experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, public health or closed allied fields.<\/li>\n<li>Five years of professional experience in a microbiology or similar lab science laboratory at a Microbiologist-2 or equivalent level. This experience should be at least a Microbiologist 2 or equivalent position level.
