Some interpretive work may also occur in a forest setting.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develops, prepares, and conducts interpretive presentations for all ages<\/li>\n<li>Conducts programs in classrooms and in parks.<\/li>\n<li>Provides information to the public about the environment of Edmonds city parks and beaches, marine sanctuary rules, and other regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Works indoors and outdoors, in various environments and weather conditions<\/li>\n<li>Helps develop and lead park programs including camps, &amp; special events as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Assists with training and mentoring staff and volunteers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\nA combination of formal education and experience that demonstrates the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of Pacific Northwest ecosystems.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Pacific Northwest marine ecology particularly intertidal invertebrates (some training will be provided)<\/li>\n<li>Experience leading outdoor educational or interpretive programs.<\/li>\n<li>Organizational and teamwork skills.<\/li>\n<li>Experience engaging and managing groups of children.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to be assertive in situations involving park regulations and marine sanctuary rules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid First Aid\/CPR certification (or obtained by April 15, 2022).<\/li>\n<li>Valid Washington State Driver&#8217;s License (driving record abstract required).\n<ul>\n<li>Note that a personal vehicle is required for travel to teaching locations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Proof of full COVID Vaccination, per school district requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to follow current safety protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to pass a background check.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Supplemental Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS\/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>ENVIRONMENT<\/u>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Indoor and outdoor including classroom, camp, beach and forest environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>PHYSICAL ABILITIES:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Walking over rough or uneven surfaces, and up and down hills.
