{"id":44806,"date":"2022-01-05T15:58:57","date_gmt":"2022-01-05T23:58:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=44806"},"modified":"2022-01-05T15:58:57","modified_gmt":"2022-01-05T23:58:57","slug":"job-policy-associate-forth-portland-or","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-policy-associate-forth-portland-or\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Policy Associate, Forth (Portland, OR)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><strong>For more information, please follow this link:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/forth.hiringthing.com\/job\/340949\/policy-associate\">https:\/\/forth.hiringthing.com\/job\/340949\/policy-associate<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary-<\/strong> $40,000-$50,000<\/p>\n<p><b>DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<b>Program Coordination (70%).<\/b> Working closely with Forth Senior Policy Manager and <a href=\"https:\/\/greenlining.org\/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw3s_4BRDPARIsAJsyoLN8t7N0LG3iZNYya0yl_x0p36225zRPcZCsYMeryHNUFP6Qq8HcPpAaAmklEALw_wcB\">Greenlining Institute<\/a>\u2019s Transformative Communities Program Manager, the Policy Associate will assist in coordinating, facilitating, and implementing the TEEM Community of Practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist TEEM Program Managers in coordinating and note taking for meetings related to the Community of Practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Support research related to transportation electrification, equity, and policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Support TEEM communications efforts including blogs, social media, and one-pagers.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work closely with TEEM organizations and help build relationships within the cohort.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist TEEM program managers in coordinating and facilitating the TEEM Annual Convening.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist the Senior Policy Manager to organize, deliver, or support other gatherings, meetings, and projects related to equity, electric mobility, and policy.<\/p>\n<p><b>Development and Organizational Support (20%).<\/b> The Policy Associate works with other staff and the TEEM program managers to cultivate funding support from foundations and other sources. Forth operates with a small staff, so the Program Associate must be flexible and prepared to assist where needed.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Support efforts to cultivate financial support; collaborate on draft proposals and progress reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices in order to adjust strategies over time.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Other responsibilities as required.<\/p>\n<p><b>Policy and Program Support (10%).<\/b> The Program Associate assists other policy and program initiatives to advance transportation electrification, particularly in historically underserved communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Encourage, support, and collaborate with cities, electric utilities, community organizations, and other key stakeholders to advance transportation electrification.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Promote electric mobility in traditionally underserved communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Encourage the use and promotion of state and regional incentives to advance equitable transportation electrification.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<b>QUALIFICATIONS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Required:<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A passion for Forth\u2019s mission<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrated commitment to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion and understanding of key DEI concepts<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Minimum two years of experience in transportation, energy, or related field (such as housing, environmental justice, public health, environment, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Experience assisting cohorts, networks, or communities of practice with a specific focus on peer-to-peer learning, social justice and equity, and\/or leadership development<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrated self-motivation, ability to work independently, and attention to detail without losing a \u201cbig picture\u201d perspective<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Strong written note taking and synthesizing skills are essential<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent cross-cultural communications skills, both written and verbal<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Team player who inspires collaboration, lifts up the work of others, and maintains balance and perspective with patience and a sense of humor<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make fields<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Existing relationships with relevant stakeholders, especially in cohort states (Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia)<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Experience working in a nonprofit with a mission-driven staff and board<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bachelor\u2019s degree in transportation, policy, energy, or related field<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrated ability to manage multiple conflicting projects, meeting deadlines while maintaining a
