Wages and Employment Information<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
This is a full-time position – 40 hour per week. Wages are $35.00 per hour dependent on successful applicant\u2019s <\/span>qualifications and experience. This is a temporary position anticipated to last a minimum of one year, it does not <\/span>qualify for health, vision or dental coverage but does include paid holidays, vacation\/sick leave benefits.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Job Description:<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
The FieldSTEM Green Jobs Coordinator is the statewide point of contact for PEI\u2019s work to create and<\/span>
support programming for secondary educators to prepare students interested in entering green economy<\/span>
careers – renewable natural resource, agriculture, conservation, outdoor recreation, environmental<\/span>
education, and environmental sciences. The position manages development of PEI resources and<\/span>
professional learning for secondary and CTE educators and creates partnerships with employers and post-<\/span>
secondary institutions to provide authentic work-integrated learning and career launch opportunities. This<\/span>
position is responsible for creating and maintaining partnerships with school districts, educational leaders,<\/span>
nonformal educators and local green economy employers to strengthen PEI\u2019s CTE and Green Jobs<\/span>
programs. This work will help lead PEI\u2019s current initiative to expand equitable green opportunities for youth.<\/span>
This is a statewide position with flexibility to work remotely or in Olympia, requires travel within the state<\/span>
and possibly to national conferences or events. PEI is a statewide organization based out of Olympia,<\/span>
Washington.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


Primary Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Represent and contribute to PEI\u2019s professional presence and strategic goals<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Be a positive ambassador of PEI<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Work within the mission to implement strategic plan goals<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Attend and contribute to statewide PEI professional learning workshops\/opportunities and staff<\/span>
meetings<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Lead PEI\u2019s Career Connected Learning<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Manage decisions regarding best practices for statewide career connected learning (CCL) programs<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Assure alignment with OSPI\u2019s and Employment Security\u2019s work to implement state and federal CTE<\/span>
and workforce development legislation<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Reinforce and assure an emphasis on secondary CTE integrated learning experiences, certification,<\/span>
and dual credit options<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Work with the development staff to support grant writing and other funding opportunities<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Lead development of career connected learning goals, track progress and provide reports<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Generate FieldSTEM green jobs media content for organizational communication efforts<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Support and Develop components of a natural resource and conservation pathway<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Develop components of a braided pathway from middle school to green economy jobs<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Collaborate with education sector and regional FieldSTEM Coordinators to facilitate and support<\/span>
the integration of career connected opportunities as they implement FieldSTEM<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Work with PEI staff and education community to identify and develop regional facilitators and<\/span>
teachers to provide leadership, facilitation, support, and expertise<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Facilitate industry focused meetings to facilitate dual credit, worksite visits, internships, mentorships<\/span>
or development of Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs) for students aligned to CTE frameworks<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Develop high-quality, career-based projects and activities in collaboration with employers that can<\/span>
be implemented in classrooms<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Professional Learning and Development of Resources<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Coordinate and\/or deliver CTE framework professional learning opportunities in collaboration with<\/span>
PEI faculty, facilitators, staff and community partners<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


Desired Qualifications<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Bachelor\u2019s Degree and 3+ years of experience with formal classroom education, workforce development or <\/span>natural resource and conservation program management or equivalent lived experience.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Experience working with and leading adults; skilled in meeting and workshop facilitation.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Experience developing and providing professional learning for career connected learning programs, including <\/span>those accessible through a skills center, career and guidance counseling, or post-secondary workforce <\/span>education.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Knowledge of the multiple education and workforce systems in the state including CTE pathways and<\/span>
programs, skills centers, state career and technical colleges and state and federal requirements and legislation <\/span>guiding CTE, career connected learning and workforce development.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Up to date on initiatives in education, e.g., Universal Design for Learning, Social Emotional Learning, Washington <\/span>State Learning Standards, Since Time Immemorial.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Awareness of key green economy sectors (natural resources, renewable energy, agriculture and food systems, <\/span>outdoor recreation, environmental conservation).<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Experience working with secondary students.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Self-directed, takes initiative to accomplish goals, working both independently and as part of a team.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Professional, positive, creative, flexible, committed to education, teachers, and students.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Experience in and commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI).<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Ability to provide own transportation and proof of auto insurance coverage.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Ability and willingness to work with Microsoft Office, Google, Salesforce, and other software programs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
