General Description<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
The Non-profit Exploratory Internship is a competitive position that is course aligned for a graduate<\/span>
student to rotate through the departments at the Pacific Education Institute which may include HR,<\/span>
Finance, Development, Program, Policy and Communications. The Non-profit Exploratory Intern will be<\/span>
assigned a variety of projects to support the work of the organization and reports to the Director of<\/span>
Finance and HR.<\/span><\/span><\/span> This position does not work directly with students.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


Primary Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Work with the Director of Finance and HR to determine which PEI Departments are in<\/span>
alignment with course work for each semester.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Depending on alignment the intern will work in 2-3 of the following Departments with the listed<\/span>
responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


o<\/span> Communication: Support the Communication Coordinator on communication<\/span>
projects including media campaigns, social media, newsletters and articles.<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Development: Support the Development Director and Development Coordinator on<\/span>
development projects including annual appeal, events, database maintenance.<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Non-profit Policy: Support the Executive Director and the Legislative Liaison to review,<\/span>
analyze and prepare documents for policy negotiations. Attend and take notes at<\/span>
policy meetings. Support policy outreach and legislative campaigns.<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Program Department: Support the Program Director and Program Coordinator in<\/span>
program logistics. Database maintenance (Salesforce), verification and analysis of<\/span>
workshop attendance, online registration process, education materials revision and<\/span>
development.<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> Finance Department: Support the Finance Director with daily deposit verification,<\/span>
report preparation, reconciliations of accounts and credit card statements, budget<\/span>
preparation and budget reports.<\/span><\/span>
o<\/span> HR Department: Support the HR Director in Human Resource projects. Manage staff<\/span>
gatherings including meetings, mini workshops and trainings, research and<\/span>
coordinate diversity activities, assist with creating culture and diversity surveys.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


Desired Qualifications<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Ideal candidates will be earning a masters degree in Public Administration, Non-profit<\/span>
Management, Public Policy or similar course of study.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Minimum of 3 years experience in related positions<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Excellent communication, interpersonal relations and writing skills<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Commitment to accuracy in work product and able to multi-task<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Organized and takes initiative to problem solve<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Maintains a positive, punctual and professional demeanor while being able to work flexibly in an<\/span>
inclusive team environment.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Canva.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
