For more information, please follow this link:<\/strong> https:\/\/www.dnr.wa.gov\/urbanforestry#grants-and-financial-assistance<\/a><\/p>\n Community Forestry Assistance Grant\u00a0Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n The purpose of this grant is to assist communities with planning and implementing projects that improve management, care, and public engagement with trees growing in parks, natural areas, and along public rights-of-way. The Projects should also address social and environmental disparities in Washington communities by investing in community-identified urban forestry needs that advance environmental, social, or public health outcomes.

ELIGIBILITY:<\/strong>
Local units of government, schools, tribes, special taxing districts and nonprofit organizations.
APPLICATION PROCESS:<\/strong>
Applications are announced each fall, submitted to the DNR Urban & Community Forestry Program Manager (contact below) and then reviewed by a grant review panel. Applications are approved, adjusted or denied. Applicants are notified and agreements signed. Projects begin July 1, 2022.
DEADLINE:<\/strong>
Friday, March 4th, 2022\u2013 by 4:00 PM local time, Olympia, Washington, USA.
TIMELINE:<\/strong>
Project duration: Approximately 11 months (July 1, 2022 \u2013 June 1, 2023).
DOLLAR AMOUNT AVAILABLE:<\/strong>
Grant requests may range from $5,000-$40,000.
