The position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the Tribe\u2019s environmental strategies. The position will coordinate with the Sustainability Working Group and other departments to assist with sustainability projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/span><\/h6>\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Responsible for implementation of the Tribe\u2019s Sustainability Initiative. Develop and implement goals based on Resolution passed by Tribal Council.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Develop and prepare planning and sustainability documents including working with the legal department and code writers to draft code amendments, regulations and procedures.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Interpret local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines as they relate to assigned responsibilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Perform research, prepare special studies, write reports, collect and analyze various statistical and\/or technical data.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Work closely with tribal facilities, and other departments to assist with projects and implementing sustainability goals and initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Works with other local governments to partner on sustainability measures.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Write grant work plans working with the Grants department to apply for available grants. Ensures grant objectives are met and reported timely.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Lead the compilation and delivery of quarterly and annual Sustainability Reports. These are used both internally and externally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Works with all Tribal entities to introduce sustainability proposals and initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Provides education and outreach to Tribal Community regarding sustainability initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Explores future opportunities for Tribal investments in solar power, geo-thermal power, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Work with and provide regular updates to the Tribe\u2019s Sustainability committee.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Keeps up to date on regional sustainability trends and recent reports.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Performs other duties as assigned.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Supervisory Responsibilities<\/span><\/h1>\n<h5 align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">This position has no supervisory duties.\u00a0\u00a0This position serves as a resource to tribal facilities, departments, and the Sustainability Committee.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Qualifications and Requirements<\/span><\/h5>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.\u00a0\u00a0The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and\/or ability required.\u00a0\u00a0Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b><br \/>\nEducation and\/or Experience<br \/>\n<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Bachelor\u2019s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, Sustainability or a related field and two years of related work experience in the field of sustainability or an equivalent combination of education and experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Demonstrated leadership in sustainability, environmental or other related field with experience managing and organizing people to implement organizational change is highly preferred.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Comprehensive research and analytical skills;
