Produced by Scott Downes, Elizabeth Torrey, Chase Gunnell and Mark Teske.<\/strong><br \/><br \/>The shrub-steppe of central Washington\u2019s Columbia Basin is a land of rich biodiversity, vibrant communities and poignant beauty. It is a place both iconic and increasingly at risk.\u00a0It\u2019s also the focus of\u00a0our\u00a0<a class=\"Hyperlink SCXW126415221 BCX2\" href=\"https:\/\/email.conservationnw.org\/t\/t-l-ciukrht-wddddidly-t\/\">Sagelands Heritage Program<\/a>, with CNW three staffers living and working across central Washington.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-arial\">Despite impacts from severe wildfires and habitat fragmentation, recovery programs are underway for species such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/email.conservationnw.org\/t\/t-l-ciukrht-wddddidly-i\/\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">sage-grouse<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/email.conservationnw.org\/t\/t-l-ciukrht-wddddidly-d\/\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">pygmy rabbits<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/email.conservationnw.org\/t\/t-l-ciukrht-wddddidly-h\/\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">sharp-tailed grouse<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/email.conservationnw.org\/t\/t-l-ciukrht-wddddidly-k\/\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">pronghorn antelope<\/a>, while efforts including the Arid Lands Initiative and Conservation Reserve Program foster constructive partnership for the future of Washington\u2019s shrub-steppe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-arial\">For wildlife lovers, hunters and anglers, Indigenous peoples, farmers and ranchers, outdoor recreationists and so many others, this land is no desert devoid of life,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/email.conservationnw.org\/t\/t-l-ciukrht-wddddidly-u\/\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">This Land is Part of Us<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-arial\"><strong>After the film, speakers and the production team will join the public for a panel discussion on conserving shrub-steppe habitats and answer questions from listeners.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-arial\">Please make sure to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/email.conservationnw.org\/t\/t-l-ciukrht-wddddidly-o\/\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">register<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>beforehand.
