{"id":43617,"date":"2021-09-29T16:31:58","date_gmt":"2021-09-29T23:31:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=43617"},"modified":"2021-09-29T16:31:58","modified_gmt":"2021-09-29T23:31:58","slug":"job-environmentalist-iii-resilience-and-flood-mitigation-specialist-new-hampshire-department-of-environmental-services-portsmouth-nh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-environmentalist-iii-resilience-and-flood-mitigation-specialist-new-hampshire-department-of-environmental-services-portsmouth-nh\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Environmentalist III \u2013 Resilience and Flood Mitigation Specialist, New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (Portsmouth, NH)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"deadline\">DEADLINE:\u00a0OCT 1, 2021<\/span><\/p>\n<p>See full details at <a href=\"https:\/\/environment.uw.edu\/career-opportunities\/environmentalist-iii-resilience-and-flood-mitigation-specialist\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">https:\/\/environment.uw.edu\/career-opportunities\/environmentalist-iii-resilience-and-flood-mitigation-specialist\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The State of New Hampshire, Department of Environmental Services, Water Division, Watershed Management Bureau has a temporary full time vacancy for an Environmentalist III \u2013 Resilience and Flood Mitigation Specialist<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To provide outreach and technical assistance to state agencies, municipalities, stakeholder organizations, and individuals related to coastal resilience, floodplain management, and hazard mitigation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicates the department\u2019s coastal climate resilience priorities and activities at the national, regional, state and local level.<\/li>\n<li>Provides technical assistance, outreach and meeting facilitation to federal and state agencies, municipalities, stakeholder organizations and individuals regarding coastal resiliency.<\/li>\n<li>Works with state agencies, municipalities, and stakeholder organizations to identify and implement administrative rule, policy and program changes to improve climate resiliency and environmental management.<\/li>\n<li>Analyzes and interprets data and federal, state, and local rules, policies, plans, programs, and procedures related to coastal resilience, floodplain management, and hazard mitigation, including but not limited to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), Community Rating System (CRS), and Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grants.<\/li>\n<li>Analyzes the ecological, biological, social, economic, and historic environment of the area and evaluates the short-term and long-term benefits and losses resulting from proposed policies, activities and other changes;
