including adverse weather and in remote locations. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Work includes performing strenuous physical activities and repetitive lifting at least 50 lbs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Schedule:<\/strong>\u00a0\n<ol>\n<li>Typically, 8:00 am &#8211; 5:00 pm, Monday \u2013 Friday.<\/li>\n<li>The work hours can vary greatly for this position at different times of the year depending on the work schedule and weather conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Stand-by may be required for this position.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Travel Requirements:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Travel may be required for short periods of time to accomplish agency goals and required training, or to attend meetings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tools and Equipment:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Power and hand tools, lawn care equipment, tractors, forklifts, welding equipment, egg picking machines, water sampling instruments.<\/li>\n<li>Small and large fish transport trucks, passenger vehicles, adult fish pumps, adult fish counters, CWT identification equipment, trash pumps, pressure washers, diesel generators, small gas engine powered equipment, computers, and software.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Customer Interactions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Communicating effectively with co-managers and constituents daily \u2013 occasional interactions with media outlets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>One (1) year of experience as a Fish Hatchery Specialist 2.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>OR\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>An Associate\u2019s degree in fisheries technology or closely allied field\u00a0<strong>AND\u00a0<\/strong>Two (2) years of experience performing fish culture duties in a hatchery.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>OR\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Successful completion of a fish culture program from a vocational school<strong>\u00a0AND<\/strong>\u00a0Two (2) years of experience performing fish culture duties in a hatchery.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>OR\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor\u2019s degree in fisheries or closely allied field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Please Note:\u00a0<\/strong>Four (4) years of experience performing a variety of fish culture duties in a hatchery will substitute for the Bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job knowledge and experience with:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fish Culture techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Water dynamics, i.e., fish requirements for; DO levels, water chemistry, temperature, turbidity.<\/li>\n<li>Basic mathematics.<\/li>\n<li>Computer knowledge of Word, Excel, and other applications.<\/li>\n<li>Proper calibration and operation of measuring instruments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Certifications\/Licenses:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>A valid driver\u2019s license\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of hatchery forms;
