(\u201cHFM\u201d) and Hancock Farmland Services, Inc. (\u201cHFS\u201d) are wholly owned subsidiaries of Hancock Natural Resource Group (\u201cHNRG\u201d). HFM and HFS are property management companies that serve global institutional investors through related-party investment management groups (Hancock Timber Resource Group and Hancock Agricultural Investment Group) and third-party private investors. HFM oversees the timber development and harvesting operations for approximately 4.5 million acres in the Pacific Northwest, Inland-Northwest, Western Gulf, Mid-Atlantic, Lake States, and Allegheny regions of North America. HFS oversees the agricultural assets and operations for approximately 0.3 million acres of farmland throughout the USA. Collectively, HFM and HFS represent the North American property management platform of HNRG.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b><span class=\"WKL2\">Location:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <\/b>\u00a0La Grande, Oregon &#8211; Forest Management Office<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Assist in the implementation of Hancock Forest Management\u2019s harvest and silviculture program as needed. Hancock Forest Management has the objective of providing a timber harvesting and silviculture program that meets or exceed all laws and SFI\u00ae objectives and achieves target investment returns for the client. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b>Scope:<\/b><br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0NE Oregon Region encompasses roughly 275,000 acres and harvests\/reforests 6000-12,000 acres annually.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Develop and maintain relationships with HFM staff and HTRG staff.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Develop and maintain relationships with harvesting, silviculture, and road building contractors.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Knowledgeable in all facets of industrial forestry.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Job Dimensions:<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Participate in open communication and teamwork with Region Management Team.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Implement timber harvesting and or silviculture programs and ensure quality control objectives are met.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist with the development of tactical plans.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist in the development of annual property budgets and subsequent forecasts as needed.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Support for timberland management operations.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b>Specific Duties<\/b><br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0CONDUCT ALL ACTIVITIES IN COMPLIANCE WITH HFM POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, ALL REGULATORY AND SFI REQUIREMENTS<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Administrate timberland management contracts.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Participant in the North Inland Division safety program.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist with the development of harvest plans.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Help as needed with the layout of harvest units.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide information to Populate and maintain tactical harvest plans.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Support implementation of SFI\u00ae standards for timberland management activities.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Manage and update GIS data.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Interact with other HNRG groups such as Acquisitions, Client Account Group, etc as needed.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Special projects as requested or needed.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist with contract appraisals, costing, bids, and retrospective analysis.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist with contract negotiation and document preparation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b>Requirements:<\/b><br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0A bachelor\u2019s degree in Forest Management (or related field such as Forest Engineering\/ Forest Science) or equivalent experience is required.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Prefer2-5 years of timber management experience.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Strong working knowledge of Oregon forest practice regulations.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Demonstrated strong organizational skills.\u00a0<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Knowledge of computer software, with emphasis in ArcMap, Excel, Access, and Word.\u00a0<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Must be team player, able to understand and work with others, and with different personalities.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Must be highly motivated and entrepreneurial.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Must have strong oral and written communication skills.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Capable of working alone in steep, uneven, rugged terrain.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>HNRG creates value through the sustainable management of natural resource investments.
