Our vision is that Southeast Utah be recognized for its contributions to scientific knowledge and its longstanding Indigenous knowledge. We work to ensure that local communities benefit educationally, economically, and environmentally from the science being done in the region. Science Moab seeks a VISTA to help the organization enact strategies and track metrics outlined in the strategic plan; develop reports, assist with graphic design, website maintenance, and written media; assist with organizational duties such as tax preparation and compliances; and assist the board of directors with occasional organizational development tasks. Importantly, the Organizational Development VISTA will help strengthen programming aimed towards low-income and underrepresented youth and adults. The Organizational Development VISTA will split time supporting each of Science Moab’s three programs (Outreach, School to Science, and Science Certified) as well as the organization as a whole. As such, the Organizational Development VISTA will report to Science Moab’s three program directors, and occasionally to the board of directors. While broad tasks and timelines have been developed for three programs and the organization as a whole, the Organizational Development VISTA will be responsible for breaking down these milestones into more detailed, manageable components and schedules. With a great degree of independence, this position is dynamic, strategic, and creative, offering the unique opportunity to shape a popular local nonprofit for years to come.

Member Duties : Experience: Program management/support; Marketing or communications; Graphic design, including Adobe Creative Suite; Web design and maintenance; Undergraduate degree or equivalent skills and experience Qualities/Abilities: Dependable, organized, self-directed and self-motivated, resourceful, adaptable, strong writing and editing skills, ability to work in teams, comfortable moving between big picture and detail-oriented thinking, ability to structure complex, long-term projects into component tasks; intentional collaborator with team members and partners; professional communicator across diverse audiences; interest in science and science education; passion for Science Moab’s mission and programs, and ability to communicate our vision and values in a clear, engaging, and inspirational way.

Program Benefits : Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend , Training , Living Allowance , Education award upon successful completion of service , Stipend.

Contact

Sophia Fisher
1558 Rocky Rd
Moab UT 84532
435-610-1280
info@sciencemoab.org

"_s2mail":"yes
14,15
17,32,28,33,141,13,20
