May be flexible for remote work, subject to mutual agreement.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the State, Tribal, Local Plans &amp; Grants Division, please visit:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/stlpg\">www.nps.gov\/stlpg<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Living Allowance:<\/strong>\u00a0The ACE Fellow is expected to contribute 40 hours\/week and will receive a living allowance of $800\/week, dispersed bi-weekly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Housing:<\/strong>\u00a0Housing is the responsibility of the ACE Fellow\u00a0and not provided by ACE or the National Park Service.\u00a0A housing reimbursement\u00a0of $250\/month\u00a0is available to partially offset housing costs for\u00a0Fellows\u00a0residing in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0ACE Fellow&#8217;s\u00a0responsibilities\u00a0will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assisting the team lead and program staff with integrating project information and other documentation related to disaster recovery grant-assisted work into data sets and case studies. Projects include undertakings by State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs) and Tribal Historic Preservation Offices (THPOs) for 2 current Hurricane grant programs, which involve hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria and hurricanes Florence, Michael, and Typhoon Yutu. These projects are generally intended as recovery efforts with subgrants made to private property owners, local governments, and nonprofit organizations. Projects will typically entail a variety of assigned activities, such as information compilation, retrieval and organization, data entry, and maintenance of information management systems.<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing and cataloging products from grantees to develop case studies for best practices related to disaster recovery, resilience, and preparedness as it relates to historic preservation that involves private property owners, local, tribal and state governments, as well as cross-jurisdictional partnerships.<\/li>\n<li>Developing working relationships with preservation partners at the State, Tribal and local levels. Duties will involve exposure to historic preservation grants management, disaster recovery, planning, and publication development, and understanding of the Federal Preservation Program.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with the development of disaster training for Certified Local Governments and cooperating with national nonprofit partners in developing both training as well as deployment of the CR Surveyor web application. This is a web application built on an ESRI platform for field-based architectural and archeological survey at the reconnaissance level in both pre- and post-disaster modes.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting staff to implement and maintain existing and future information management systems to support the mission of the Division.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting\u00a0staff to update databases and spreadsheets, as directed, to provide detailed information for easier compiling, summarizing, analysis or reports;\u00a0disseminating\u00a0information to the appropriate personnel; and\u00a0performing\u00a0duties in compliance with applicable guidelines and standard operating procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ACE Fellow will have the opportunity to gain knowledge of cultural resource regulations, laws, and requirements sufficient to be able to address the issues of Federal grant programs and the Federal disaster response framework. This will include Section 106, Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and learning about tribal and local consultation processes. The position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of professional and nonprofessional persons to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management officials and grant recipients. The ACE Fellow may propose novel ways of analyzing and gathering existing data to create visual representations of the division&#8217;s grant programs and other work suitable for use on the web or print collateral materials.
