Denison University is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><strong>Job Summary and Requirements<\/strong> <\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Essential Job Functions<\/span><\/div>\n<div>The successful candidate will be capable of teaching all courses in the core of our curriculum:\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">ENVS<\/span>\u00a0100 Integrated Environmental Studies;\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">ENVS<\/span>\u00a0200 Environmental Analysis;\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">ENVS<\/span>\u00a0301 Environmental Practicum; and\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">ENVS<\/span>\u00a0401 Environmental Senior Project (see course descriptions at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/denison.edu\/academics\/environmental-studies\">http:\/\/denison.edu\/academics\/environmental-studies<\/a>) and advanced courses in the candidate\u2019s area of expertise. The teaching load (typically 5 courses per year) will include sections of core courses and advanced courses to meet the needs of the Program. The successful candidate will also be an active scholar who has demonstrated engagement in environmental sustainability initiatives with the broader community, and whose work prioritizes innovation and social change.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Minimum Qualifications<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Candidates are required to have by August, 2022 a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline (<span class=\"caps\">ABD<\/span>\u00a0will be considered as Instructor until Ph.D. is attained). \u00a0 The successful candidate will: be an outstanding teacher\/scholar who can teach effectively at all levels of our curriculum; be an active and engaging scholar; demonstrate a strong commitment to liberal arts education; and demonstrate the capacity to participate in a community-based interdisciplinary program.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Preferred Qualifications<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Previous teaching experience, scholarly and teaching focus outside the United States,\u00a0 in areas such as environmental justice, sustainable development, law, design, policy,\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">GIS<\/span>, entrepreneurship, behavior, and environmental education.\u00a0 Demonstrated community engagement in environmental sustainability initiatives is of importance to the Program.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Applications received by October 15, 2021, will receive full consideration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Denison University is an academically rigorous liberal arts college with an increasingly diverse campus community.
