The Coordinator is responsible for planning and facilitating monthly Nisqually River<br \/>\nCouncil and committee meetings with up to 40 community and government representatives and for<br \/>\ndrafting correspondence, plans, and communications on behalf of the NRC. The Coordinator leads<br \/>\npublic outreach on behalf of the NRF and NRC through social and traditional media channels and<br \/>\ncommunity events. This position also works with the Executive Director and other Foundation staff<br \/>\non grants and fundraising efforts and assists in implementing environmental education, volunteer,<br \/>\nand stewardship programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><br \/>\nCoordinate monthly meetings and associated activities of the Nisqually River Council (30%)<br \/>\n\u25cf Attend all meetings of the NRC and its committees (Citizens Advisory Committee, Water<br \/>\nPlanning Unit, and others as needed).<br \/>\n\u25cf Establish and distribute agendas.<br \/>\n\u25cf Record and distribute meeting minutes.<br \/>\n\u25cf Plan and facilitate NRC-sponsored meetings, workshops, and other public events.<br \/>\n\u25cf Assist the NRC and its committees in setting priorities, developing work plans, and<br \/>\nimplementing actions or strategies in support of the Nisqually Watershed Stewardship Plan.<br \/>\n\u25cf Monitor local policy and planning processes within the Nisqually Watershed and draft<br \/>\ncomments and correspondence on behalf of the NRC.<br \/>\n\u25cf Maintain NRC records and files.<br \/>\nLead public outreach and education on Nisqually Watershed issues (25%)<br \/>\n\u25cf Update and maintain NRC and NRF website.<br \/>\n\u25cf Maintain active presence for the NRC and NRF on social media platforms.<br \/>\n\u25cf Write and distribute blog posts, press releases, and newsletters publicizing news and events<br \/>\nto appropriate audiences.<br \/>\n\u25cf Coordinate with internal and external partners on shared initiatives and events, including<br \/>\nthe Nisqually Watershed Festival, Nisqually River Education Project, volunteer stewardship<br \/>\nevents, and others.<br \/>\n\u25cf Support volunteer training, recruitment, and management for NRF programs.<br \/>\nSupport organizational development goals (20%)<br \/>\n\u25cf Assist in developing grant opportunities to support Council and Foundation activities.<br \/>\n\u25cf Assist in fundraising activities and donor tracking.<br \/>\nDevelop and implement the Nisqually Stream Stewards Program a free class targeted at adults and<br \/>\nopen to anyone interested in learning about the Nisqually Watershed. (15%)<br \/>\n\u25cf Develop new curriculum for the redesigned Stream Stewards Program<br \/>\n\u25cf Coordinate participants, speakers, and class logistics<br \/>\n\u25cf Provide opportunities for graduate volunteers in the watershed in cooperation with<br \/>\nWatershed partners and track volunteer participation<br \/>\nSupport implementation of other Nisqually River Foundation programs (10%)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent relevant experience.<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to work independently and in a team, establish work priorities, and manage time<br \/>\neffectively.<br \/>\n\u25cf Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills and ability to<br \/>\nexpress ideas clearly to audiences with various levels of technical understanding.<br \/>\n\u25cf Excellent organizational skills.<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively with people of diverse<br \/>\nbackgrounds, including community stakeholders and government agencies.<br \/>\n\u25cf Enthusiasm for working in outdoor settings, including adverse weather conditions.<br \/>\n\u25cf Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and social media applications.<br \/>\n\u25cf Valid driver\u2019s license and transportation (mileage is reimbursed).<br \/>\n\u25cf Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends (1-2 times per month).<br \/>\n\u25cf Covid-19 vaccination required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Experience using graphic design, WordPress, and contact management tools.<br \/>\n\u25cf Knowledge of regional natural resource issues, including but not limited to water quality,<br \/>\nwatershed management, salmon recovery, and climate change.<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience working with tribal communities.<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience crafting and implementing multi-platform public outreach and communications<br \/>\nstrategies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job status:<\/strong> Full-time, salaried position with variable hours (some evenings and weekends)<br \/>\nSalary and benefits: $40,000 to $45,000\/year, depending on experience.
