The program strives to invite a larger audience into public lands by eliminating traditional barriers of inclusion in a safe and supportive environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate for this opportunity will be familiar with the waterways of east Texas and will be expected to engage with members of the community while helping to foster a positive experience with the outdoors and NPS staff. They will need to be able to swim and tread water and work at least one weekend day each week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Term<\/strong>: October 18, 2021 &#8211; August 19, 2022<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or GED<\/li>\n<li>Between the ages of 21-28<\/li>\n<li>US Citizenship or lawful permanent US Resident<\/li>\n<li>Ability to pass a National Service Criminal History Check<\/li>\n<li>Ability to swim and tread water<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work one weekend day each week<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work outdoors in all weather types<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with a diverse group of people<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to complete the entire term of service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span class=\"how-apply-header\">HOW TO APPLY<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In nature, we know that communities dominated by one plant or animal are fragile and less productive.
