Activities will include program promotion (workshops and one-on-one meetings), contract coordination, conservation planning, conservation plan modification, site assessment and reporting. \u00a0Provide technical biological assistance for wildlife habitat enhancement techniques to private landowners and public organizations. \u00a0Work with local chapters of Quail Forever (QF) and other local partners to increase habitat management efforts and participate in regional and statewide habitat meetings. \u00a0Assist or coordinate activities and projects with other QF and NRCS staff. This position will be an employee of, and supervised by Pheasants Forever, Inc. &amp; Quail Forever, with daily instruction and leadership provided by NRCS and QF.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with landowners and partner agencies.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently with little supervision and with diverse clientele.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of wildlife ecology, grassland, wetland and early succession habitat management including the ability to utilize various habitat management tools in the development of management plans.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of conservation and wildlife habitat programs provided by federal (i.e. Farm Bill, US Fish and Wildlife Service), state, &amp; local entities. \u00a0In addition, knowledge of how these programs are implemented in an agricultural landscape is desired.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of or practical experience with agricultural systems and farming.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with ArcGIS and Conservation Desktop.<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license required; some use of personal vehicle may be required (mileage reimbursement provided).<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to obtain USDA Federal Security Clearance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Education and Experience Preferred<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0 A minimum requirement for this position is a Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife Management or closely related natural resources field. \u00a0Proven experience working with USDA Farm Bill programs (CRP, CREP, ACEP, EQIP and CSP) is preferred. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Starting Salary<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0$34,000 &#8211; $36,000 + Benefits<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>To Apply<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00a0<\/strong>Please click on the blue\u00a0<strong>APPLY<\/strong>\u00a0icon at the bottom or upper right corner.
