This position reports to the supervising Instruction and Classroom Support Technician and works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to support the laboratory and field science curriculum.\u00a0The Laboratory Science Aide I will be required to develop knowledge and skills necessary to successfully carry out their assigned duties supporting Programs in biology, chemistry, physics, electronics, geology, botany, computer science, or ecology.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Specific duties include:<\/div>\n
    \n
  • Preparing equipment, chemicals, and supplies needed to implement laboratory experiments and field trips.<\/li>\n
  • Setting up and testing of experiments as directed.<\/li>\n
  • Assisting students, faculty, and staff in cleaning equipment and facilities following laboratory or field work.<\/li>\n
  • Maintaining clean and functional laboratory spaces.<\/li>\n
  • Performing other duties as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Qualifications:<\/div>\n
      \n
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision in an environment that requires constant flexibility and attention to detail.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to create, organize, and maintain records and files.<\/li>\n
    • Desire to work collaboratively with diverse staff, faculty, and students.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to plan, prioritize, execute, and complete projects in timely fashion.<\/li>\n
    • Desire to improve and broaden knowledge and skills across a wide variety of scientific disciplines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
