This coalition coordinates with CCE\u2019s sister 501(c)(4) organization, Citizens\u2019 Climate Lobby (CCL), when volunteers engage in advocacy for specific legislation. This position will work within CCL to initiate and implement outreach to young adult conservatives and Republicans on carbon pricing and carbon dividends as a mechanism to mitigate climate change.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nPOSITION REPORTS TO:<\/b> Kelsey Grant, CCE\u2019s Conservative Outreach Coordinator, unless otherwise specified.<\/span><\/p>\nSCHEDULE\/TIME COMMITMENT:<\/b> Daily\/weekly schedules and hours are flexible. Start\/end dates are agreed upon by the Conservative Outreach Coordinator and intern.<\/span><\/p>\nLOCATION: <\/b>Remote<\/span><\/p>\nRESPONSIBILITIES STRUCTURED AROUND THE FOLLOWING GOALS:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n\n- Build a network of conservative and Republican young adults who are interested in climate policy that you engage on a regular basis.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Train young conservatives and Republicans to voice a constructive message for putting a price on carbon emissions. Actions may include:<\/span>\n
\n- speaking at events & hosting meetings & events to discuss climate policy – in person or virtual<\/span><\/li>\n
- publish media supporting carbon pricing: social media, local & regional papers, podcasts<\/span><\/li>\n
- participating in organizations and events to network with conservatives<\/span><\/li>\n
- supporting CCL\u2019s Young Conservative Caucus<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Develop, propose, test & implement outreach methods to young adult conservatives & Republicans.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Provide occasional administrative support including email, calls, research and data entry.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Responsibilities can be adjusted according to an intern\u2019s interests and skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
REQUIREMENTS:<\/b><\/p>\n\n- Demonstrated networking & communication skills especially related to conservative outreach<\/span><\/li>\n
- Demonstrated <\/span>ability to identify the interests of conservatives and Republicans<\/span><\/li>\n
- An understanding of carbon pricing as a mechanism for climate mitigation<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ability to work collaboratively, to meet deadlines, and to self direct your actions<\/span><\/li>\n
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and U.S. citizens<\/span><\/li>\n
- Supply your own computer with internet access and transportation for outreach events<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
