Those with Bachelor\u2019s degree OR related field experience (forestry, biology, agriculture or other natural resources-related field) will be given preference.<\/li>\n
- Ability to perform physical work, sometimes under adverse conditions or in inclement weather;<\/li>\n
- Ability to operate various types of equipment in a safe and efficient manner (e.g.; chainsaw, brush saw, UTV, water pumps, herbicide sprayers, etc.);<\/li>\n
- Possess, or ability to obtain, related licenses such as first aid, CPR, basic wildland firefighter 130\/190 etc. (provided by NLM, if needed)<\/li>\n
- Possess, or ability to obtain possession of, IL Department of Agriculture Commercial Pesticide Operator\u2019s license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Bachelor\u2019s degree or one or more years of experience in natural resources related field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
REQUIRED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Personal pair of steel toe boots<\/li>\n
- Leather gloves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
*All other personal protective equipment supplied by employer: i.e. disposable ear plugs, chainsaw chaps, hard hat, etc<\/p>\n
WORKING CONDITIONS\/PHYSICAL EFFORT<\/strong><\/p>\nThe candidate may work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances. These conditions require:<\/p>\n
\n- considerable physical exertion and\/or muscular strain<\/li>\n
- 8 -10 hour days in isolated settings<\/li>\n
- occasional overnight stays in hotels<\/li>\n
- ability to tolerate insects, poison ivy, and other unpleasant aspects of nature<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
