The role encompasses wide-ranging tasks, including ensuring that all monitoring\/research projects run efficiently and produce high-quality data, coordinating\/supervising research staff, supervising volunteers, advising on and developing projects, assisting\/advising international researchers and enforcing SIF\/Aldabra regulations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working with:<\/strong>\u00a0Local\/international team of SIF staff on Aldabra<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting to:\u00a0<\/strong>CEO, Director of Research and Conservation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Selection criteria in brief:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 MSc (essential) in environmental\/conservation subject<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Additional experience working in the environmental sector in Seychelles (preferred)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Min 2 yr experience coordinating monitoring, research and conservation programmes (essential), preferably in the tropics and on small islands with basic facilities (preferred)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Min 1 yr experience managing team in environmental monitoring\/conservation work (essential)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience with database management, report-writing, GIS, statistics and presentations (essential)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience working with and interest in invasive species (animals and\/or plants) (preferred)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Positive, problem-solving and resourceful attitude and ability to take initiative (essential)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (essential)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Proven determination and commitment to conservation (essential)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Proven professionalism and integrity (essential)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 High level of fitness, strong swimmer and diving skills (essential).
