A study shows that 45% of millennials or younger identify as climate activists as opposed to 36% for Gen X and 32% for Boomers. At CCL, engaging youth on climate advocacy is central to our mission to advance climate policies and grassroots engagement on climate action. The Student Engagement Manager has the important role of promoting participation from young people (ages 18-30) in CCL. This role will be responsible for supervising support staff, fellows, and interns.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>CORE RESPONSIBILITIES<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Student engagement<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Provide overall direction for student campaigns and grassroots climate advocacy.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Supervise 5-10 fellows each working 10 hours per week.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Support students to start CCL campus chapters and climate campaigns.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oversee CCL\u2019s internship program and promote the equity of the recruitment process.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manage CCL\u2019s Climate Advocacy Certificate Program.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Recruit diverse students to CCL\u2019s student programs, conferences, and events.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintain communication platforms, including a monthly newsletter, Zoom meeting, and social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Develop and collect resources for student engagement.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Track outcomes and keep records of higher ed engagement.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Work with CCL staff and non-student volunteers on student engagement\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coordinate higher ed outreach and programming for CCL\u2019s conferences.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Support volunteers that work with youth.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist CCL\u2019s targeted outreach priorities for conservatives and people of color.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Liaison with organizations that work on youth climate advocacy<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintain relationships with organizations that work with young adults on climate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Develop relationships with faculty and staff at colleges and universities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Collaborate with organizations on youth climate initiatives and events.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Note: Evening and weekend hours are often necessary when working with volunteers across multiple time zones.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATIONS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The ideal candidate would have the following experience and personal attributes, though we will consider all qualified candidates:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bachelor\u2019s degree\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Experience in environmental organizing and advocacy, especially on campuses<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Background working with youth and college students<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Demonstrated ability to work with people on both the right and left politically\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Proven ability to supervise students in internship and leadership positions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Able to use social media and mass communication or willing to learn<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Personal attributes:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Passion for climate action and youth development\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Flexibility, persistence, and resilience when encountering obstacles<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strategic;
